The Far Eastern University Tamaraws bounced back after
shooting down the Adamson Soaring Falcons 75-65. The opening period went stiff
for the both squads with the lead going to the side of Adamson as they end the
first period 14-13.
The Tamaraws were able to charge back early in the second
period to reclaim the lead from Adamson, also at that point FEU’s defense is
giving them a more comfortable cushion at 32-24 with less than two minutes in
the quarter, though the first half ended at 32-28.
The Adamson Falcons were able to recover in the third period
tying the game at 34, and even getting the lead at 38-37, but the Tamaraws didn’t
let Adamson to gain momentum as they quickly establish a 50-40 lead in the
latter part of the quarter.
In the final period the Tamaraws enters the game calm and
composed as they were able to counter every move of the Falcons, keeping them
at bay the whole quarter even with Ken Holmqvist and Ron Dennison fouling out
of the game.
A New Breed of Tamaraws is starting to take over for FEU,
like former Falcons Axel Inigo and Kimlee Bayquin who had a great performance in
this game, scoring 13 and 9 points respectively. Meanwhile, hold overs, Richard
Escoto and Raymar Jose continues to fulfill their duties to be the leaders of
the team, Escoto scored 13 points and 5 rebounds while Jose scored 11 points
and 12 rebounds.
Jerrick Ahanmisi led the Falcons with 19 points, Adamson’s
biggest woe was their rebounding as they were out rebounded by FEU. The
Tamaraws had 53 total rebounds, while Adamson only had 34, in the
offensive rebounding , FEU had 23, while the Falcons only had 8.

The NU Bulldogs take down the Ateneo Blue Eagles 70-60 to go 2-0 early in the tournament. It was a stiff start for both teams as they ended the opening period tied at 20, going to the second round it was still a tight race for NU and Ateneo as they exchanges lead throughout the quarter until they ended the first half still tied at 32-all.
In the second half NU had a shooting spree as they were able to outscore and dominate the Blue Eagles in the third period taking a 20-9 quarter score to end it at 52-41. In the final period Ateneo tried to catch up with NU's game, but to no avail the Bulldogs were still able to keep Ateneo at bay.
Rev Diputado led the Bulldogs with 16 points, followed by Matt Sale with 12 points and Alfred Aroga with 11 points, meanwhile Mike Nieto was the only Blue Eagle to score in double digit with 14 points.

Precious Arellado and Maria Balleser shown the way for the Lady Tams with 15 and 14 points respectively, while Kaye Pingol and Nathalia Prado both scored 12 points for Adamson in losing efforts.
