The Best Dressed at the GMA Gala 2023

It has been a week since the GMA Gala 2023 was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Newport City wherein hundreds of celebrities gathered and celebrate the milestone that the network achieved for the past 73 years. 

2023 has embarked a new era of collaborations and creativity with the network partnering with various name in the industry including former archrivals ABSCBN, with this the so called "Network War" has been declared over by the big wigs of both companies, in fact present at the GMA Gala held last July 22 were big names from ABSCBN such as CEO, Carlo Katigbak and COO, Cory Vidanes. 

There were also Kapamilya stars that are spotted at the Gala such as Anne Curtis, Jhong Hilario, Vhong Navarro, Darren Espanto, and Vice Ganda.  

But among the hundreds of stars, who shined the brightest at the GMA Gala 2023, we reveal our list of the 10 Best Dressed Celebrities at the red carpet below.

10. Gabbi Garcia. 

Starting off our list of the best dressed for this year’s gala is Unbreak My Heart star Gabbi Garcia. she’s wearing a white tubed fringed dress by Martin Bautista paired with a net like top with mother of pearls dangling on it, giving that mermaid energy for the look. 

9. Alden Richards

Next on our list is Alden Richard in a white symmetrical white jacket suit from Louis Vuitton that was paired with a silver brooch and a of course a Patek Philippe watch to complete the very expensive look of the Kapuso leading man. This look earned Alden the Sparkle Star of the Night award at the gala. 

He was styled by Studio 24C team led by Melville Sy. 

8. Sanya Lopez

Coming in next on our list is Ang mga Lihim ni Urduja star Sanya Lopez. Sanya is the golden girl of the night as she shined in her golden serpentine gown by Michael Leyva, the look was styled by Eldz Mejia. 

7. Vice Ganda

Mothering! That would be the perfect word to describe the arrival of Vice Ganda at the red carpet of the GMA Gala, the Kapamilya star and It’s Showtime host came in the red carpet with co hosts Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, and Anne Curtis. 

Wearing a Neric Beltran white tube gown, Vice walked the red carpet paired with a huge feather cape to complete the unkabogable look. 

6. Bea Alonzo.

It was a night of muted colors, but newly engaged Bea Alonzo came in shimmering, blooming, and sparkling in a white corset bustier gown by AZ Factory. Definitely simple yet elegant look for the Movie Queen. 

5. Jennylyn Mercado & 4. Dennis Trillo  

It’s a classic Hollywood look for Kapuso leading lady, Jennylyn Mercado as she walks the red carpet with her hubby, Maria Clara at Ibarra star Dennis Trillo also matching with that old Hollywood elegance.   

Jennylyn looked very regal in a curvy emerald green gown by Anthony Ramirez paired with a black cape to complete the look, meanwhile, Dennis looking sharp in his classic black tuxedo by Tom Ford. 

3. Glaiza de Castro

Wearing a necklace that's worth almost Php 38 million will definitely land you in the list of best dressed of every media outfit, coming to the red carpet in a classic Hollywood glam look, The Seed of Love star  definitely look stunning as her million worth necklace wearing an olive green silk pleated gown paired by Joe San Antonio. 

Glaiza was styled by Daryl Maat. 

2. Ruru Madrid 

The best dressed male for me at the Gala is Black Rider star and GMA’s action-drama prince Ruru Madrid, coming in the red carpet with style in a big bike wearing a black leather pant and suit by Anthony Ramirez and coming in a sparkling all black ensemble by Chynna Mamawal for his second look, Ruru without a doubt slayed in the Gala, exuding masculinity in style. 

1. Marian Rivera

ETHEREAL, that’s how I would describe Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera at the red carpet of this year’s GMA Gala. 

Wearing a white pleated silk laced gown by Daniel Frankel, Marian was Immaculate walking down the red carpet with husband Dingdong Dantes, some might say the dress looked simple, but the Kapuso Queen undeniably sparkled the brightest that night with her beauty and elegance plus the fact that her look costs more than half a million pesos.

Kenneth Aniban: The Comeback Kid (2)

The month of July is about to end and our comeback kid, Kenneth Aniban has been reigning for about a month now as Mister National Universe Philippines. 

Before we wrapped up our feature with Kenneth we get to know more of him as he shared what has kept him busy, how do he keep himself fit and healthy, and this time he gets to unleash his sexier side as he reveal some of sexy stuff for us.

1. It’s been a while since we last did a feature, what kept you busy?

Uhm siguro preparations talaga, so lagi akong naggigym, it’s either gym, photoshoot, or natutulog, aside from playing basketball as well.  

 

2. Describe your typical day. 

Siguro, ah ano kasi ako dati eh call center agent, so galing akong BPO company, so ang typical day starts at 3am. So I will wake up at 1am, I’ll prepare myself, then at 2:30am papasok na ko ng trabaho, then I’ll work from 3am to 12nn, then afterwards paguwi magfefreshen up then I will go directly sa gym or maglalaro ako basketball, either of the two. Then after magpapahinga and eat some food, then kailangan na matulog ng maaga to wake up the next day. 

3. As a person, how much have you changed? 

Maturity wise, coz I was a young rumbunctious 20 year old so hindi ko pa alam ang purpose, everything was all fun and games, hindi ko pa alam kung anong dapat gawin, kung ano bang patutunguhan ko kasi nga I was very young, now two years after I experienced alot, nagkatrabaho I’ve gone through many ups and downs so yung maturity level ko mas malaki na kesa dati and yun yung baon baon ko yung every lessons that I’ve learned sa two years na nagpahinga ako. 

 

4. What inspires you these days?

The crown, that inspires me alot, even though may mga araw na ayaw kong gumalaw, ayaw kong mag workout, just a constant reminder na gusto mong manalo and also yung appreciation ko kay God na binigyan ako ng opportunity ulit after two years.

1. Do you have your favorites and least favorite workouts? 

Favorite workout, upper body. Least favorite workout, Legs! Sobrang pangit ng leg day para sa akin, upper body kasi feeling mo lumalaki ka yung pump ba yun yung masarap sa pakiramdam.   

2. How about diet? What food do you usually take and you avoid? 

Eggs, Fish, Oatmeal, Chicken, Lean Ground Pork, and some protein powder yun lang, nagrerange lang dun yung kinakain ko, 

3. Favorite part of your body? 

Siguro chest, yun yung pinaka na develop ko throughout the years. 

4. Part of your body that needs improvement? 

Siguro back, kasi yun yung pinaka mahirap idevelop. 

5. How about skin care? Any skin care routine you got?

Yes I do have, I have cleanser, toner, serum, and moisturizer. I have very sensitive skin.  

 

6. Did you learn to put on your own hair and makeup?.

Make up lang, di naman ko ganun ka galing, pero getting there. Yung hair hindi talaga kaya kasi kulot talaga ako eh.

1. How would you define the word sexy? 

The word sexy for me is equivalent to being confident, being confident means you’re appreciative of your skin, you are very comfortable with your own skin and you are willing to perform and develop yourself and also you just embody the work of being a perfectionist as well kasi you can’t be a sexy man if you are not confident and you don’t have the ability to be confident in front of everybody.

No matter what size you are, what color you are, what race you are, if you are truly confident, then confidence is being sexy.  

2. When do you feel you are at your sexiest? 

Kapag nakaayos ako, when I am preparing for something. that’s the time I feel sexy. 

3. What’s the sexiest thing you’ve ever done to someone?

Being romantic like siguro kapag nagdedate and kapag binigyan mo ng gifts as well. 

4. Who’s the sexiest person for you? 

MBJ! Michael B. Jordan, yun talaga. 

5. Where’s the sexiest place you’ve done it? 

House, coz you are in your comfort zone. 

6. What’s the sexiest piece of clothing you got?

Pegarro Swimwear and Tank Top.  

7. Sexiest Part of your body? 

Chest and Abs. 

8. Wild or Sweet? 

Sweet, they can do something for you na walang kapalit.

Miss Grand Philippines clarifies Herelene Budol's "Tourism" title a "Generic" one

 It looks like Herlene Budol's could be first international pageant stint is on the rocks again as contrary to what everyone thought about was inadvertently wrong as the ALV Pageant Circle and the Miss Grand Philippines organization has clarified that her title, Miss Philippines Tourism is a generic title and not the Miss Tourism World that will be happening in London later this year.  

The statement came after a cease and desist order was posted by the legal counsel of another pageant which is Hiyas ng Pilipinas on their social media account that states that "All contracts, agreements. covenants, and memorandums made prior to February 18, 2023, including franchise agreements are considered null and void", that includes the use of the Miss Tourism World Philippines. 

Last year, it was Justine Felizarta, Miss World 2022 First Princess who assumed as the representative of the Philippines to the Miss Tourism World pageant in Vietnam last year, where she finished as 1st runner up. 

The ALV Pageant Circle assured that Herlene Budol will still be competing in another international tourism pageant that they will be announcing soon.

Nikki de Moura of Cagayan de Oro is Miss Grand Philippines 2023

 

It was a resounding success for the first ever Miss Grand Philippines pageant as they crown their first ever Queen in their coronation night held last July 13, at the Mall of Asia Arena. 

It was indeed a tight race for the crown between the front runners, the returnees, and the newbies as they slug it off in every round of competition from introduction, swimsuit, evening gown, speech, and the question & answer portion. 

In the end it was Nikki de Moura of Cagayan de Oro City who went home with the green and gold crown, heavy favorites Michelle Arceo of Bagumbayan, QC was named as Reina Hispano Filipinas, while Herlene Nicole Budol of Angono, Rizal who used an interpreter in the Speech and Q&A round went home with the Miss Tourism Philippines title. 

Francine Reyes of Tarlac Province was named as Miss Eco Teen Philippines, and surprisingly another favorite to win, Caloocan City's Shanon Tampon only placed as 1st runner-up, wrapping up the winners is Caluya, Antique's Charie Sergio placed as second runner-up. 

Nikki de Moura will compete in Vietnam for the 11th Miss Grand International pageant this coming October.

Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 Announces First Four Films.

After the success of its summer edition held last April, the Metro Manila Film Festival is now raring to replicate it as it announces the first four movies based on script that will compete in the 49th edition this December. 

Leading the pack of movies are Alden Richards and Sharon Cuneta starrer entitled "A Mother and Son Story, to be directed by Nuel Naval, to be produced by Cineko Productions. Next is the horror flick, K(ampon) starring beauty Gonzales and the returning Derek Ramsay, to be directed by King Palisoc, and will be produced by Quantum Films. 

Next movie is the action-fantasy movie "Penduko" starring Matteo Guidicelli, to be directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, from Sari Sari Network. Last of the four movies is the Dingdong Dantes-Marian Rivera starrer "Rewind", from ABSCBN Films Production Inc., and will be directed by Mae Cruz Alviar. 

The next set of entries will be chosen based on finished films and will be announced on October. 

Kenneth Aniban: The Comeback Kid

Two years after he first joined a national pageant, Kenneth Aniban went back to pageantry and this time emerged as one of the winners of the recently concluded Mister International Philippines, where he was named as one of the two representatives of the Philippines in the Mister National Universe next year along with Batangas City's Ruslan Kulikov. 

The 22 year old representative of Cavite definitely fired up the crowd after delivering the best answer in the Q&A round where he was asked about what global issue would he address if he is given the opportunity to raise it on a larger platform, he said that he would raise the issue of gender inequality not just for the men and women, but also to the LGBTQ Community, he would like to break the stigma between the gender identities and showcase every beauty of all.

Fulfilling his childhood dream of winning a pageant and to represent the Philippines in an international competition that has kept the fire inside Kenneth, that even after he failed in his first try the drive inside him to win a title still kept on burning.  

Joining again this time, Kenneth feels more prepared and more matured as compared to the previous pageant where he was young and still naive in the world of pageantry, he is now more than ready to compete as he was able to establish himself more when it comes to getting more people on board to help him in his campaign. 

Kenneth shared that in that span of almost two years he was able to hone himself to be better this time, he does this by developing the things that his mentors thought him, from his looks, to his styling, and even how he walks on stage, step by step he worked on every aspect as he said that everything will be depending on him on how he will perform on stage, it’s either he will perform well or he will crumble down on stage.   

Definitely, Kenneth delivered his best in the pageant specially at the coronation night where he really shined bright, executing everything that he worked on in that two year hiatus, a much deserved win for a hard working lad like him.
