Anjo Pertierra: The Hottie Spiker

We are now on our final week with our Guy for the month of January and after talking about Anjo Pertierra's Volleyball and Showbiz career, it's time to tap into a more personally chat and get to know more about Anjo and this time we are getting to know more of his fitness routines and we are also going to tap the side of him that we doesn't know that much.

We first get to know Anjo's fitness routines, since he is an athlete being fit and healthy is his number one priority, but how does he keep himself still in shape despite having no physical trainings during this pandemic.

  1. How do you keep your body fit and healthy?

"Ngayong pandemic kasi nga I rarely go to the gym, so minomonitor ko lang yung pagkain ko sinisigurado ko na I don't eat too much since I don't get to burn calories that muchyun lang , more water, sleeping on time, pero minsan sumusundot ako ng konting work out dito nga lang sa condo ganyan since ayoko pumunta ng gym nakakatakot, konting push up at sit ups lang, papawis lang."

  1. Do you follow any workout routines? Specially as a Volleyball player.

"Meron kasi kaming conditioning coach sa cignal nagbibigay siya ng program usually pag off season nagloload kami ibig sabihin mabigat yung binubuhat, pero since may pandemic walang kasiguraduhan kung kailan ulit magkakaseason so sobrang hirap sa part ng coaches nangangapa sila ng program kasi hindi nga nila alam ang starting date ng liga.

So gagawin nila they're trying to mix and match, na parang loading at the same time lalagyan ng konting movements para magaan parin pero at the same time nagkakarga ka."

  1. What is your favorite and least favorite work out?

"Favorite work out ko Cardio, pinaka ayaw ko gawin yung Bulgarian split squat, sobrang ayaw kong ginagawa yun ang sakit sa legs."

  1. How about diet? What are the foods you take and foods you avoid?

"Ako ngayon wala talaga akong diet, minomonitor ko lang yung food in take ko kasi nga sobrang bilis ng metabolism ko so nadadigest ko agad yung food, gutom ako maya't maya ganun yung metabolism ko sobrang bilis talaga, kaya ngayon minemake sure ko na atleast kung kakain man ako sa isang araw tatlo, hindi sosobra ng lima, kung may in betweens man ako kung anong oras ako magutom kunyare any time of the day magmemerienda ako yun na yung pang apat na meal ko hindi na ko sosobra ng lima.

Kasi sure ako pag sumobra ko ng lima tataba ako kasi nga wala akong regular work out ngayon so ayun minomonitor ko lang, kahit ano naman kinakain ko usually nagluluto ako ng siomai, hotdog ganyan, itlog pero minsan pag sinisipag ako nagluluto ako ng home cooked meals like tinola, adobo, bicol express."

  1. Favorite part of your body? And part of your body that needs improvement?

"Favorite part ko siguro yung chest ko, di ko alam kung bakit, kasi may chest hair ako di ko alam I find it good sa akin, parang it looks good sa akin feeling ko lang ha assumption ko lang yun.

Tapos ang pinaka ayoko siguro yung facial hair ko, ang bilis nya tumubo pag inaahit ko sya. Eh tamad ako magahit so pag pinapagalitan ako ng management ayan magaahit nanaman ako."

We are down to the last stretch of our feature with Anjo, we got to know him as the volleyball player, the aspiring actor, his fitness routines, now we are down to get to know more about Anjo.

  1. Single or taken?

"Single po"

  1. What turns you off and what turns you on?

"What turns me on? Intelligence tsaka kung paano ako tignan, ewan ko minsan nababasa ko yung tao sa tingin nila sa akin tsaka kung paano sila ngumiti sa akin, kunyare pag nahuli ko silang nakatingin sa akin ganyan tapos ngingitian nila ko wala lang medyo nakaka turn on sya.

What turns me off?

  1. How would you describe yourself as a partner?

"Feeling ko ako yung adventurous type of a partner, tsaka ayoko nang nakukulong ka sa akin na ako lang kasama mo gusto ko outgoing ka pa din, gusto ko kung ano ginagawa mo bago mo ko nakilala giangawa mo pa din kasi nga hindi naman yun yung point ng pagiging partner mo sa akin ayoko ng lahat ng oras mo igugugol mo sa akin kasi at the same time busy din ako as a person, diba kaya mas okay na may ginagawa ka na ikaw and your friends kahit na anong gusto gawin, for as long as mahal mo ko edi mahal din kita."

  1. What type of partner are you looking for?

  1. What’s the wildest/most outrageous thing you’ve ever done so far?

"Wildest?

  1. When do you feel sexy?

"I feel sexy whenever I achieve something na alam kong nakakaproud sa sarili, kahit small things kunyare kapag bagong shave ako I feel sexy, new haircut I feel sexy, new shirt I feel sexy, new bed sheets I feel sexy, alam mo yun kapag may naachieve ako kahit small things I appreciate it.

What's the sexiest thing you've ever bought?
"Siguro ano Lube hahaha kailangan pa bang iexplain haha"

Sexiest Piece of Clothing that you own?
"Red Underwear, actually Pink pala, Pink boxer briefs haha."

What part of your body other people find sexy?
"Lagi nilang sinasabi yung chest hair ko po haha, ayun nakikita minsan sa comments. Ewan ko gusto nila yung body hair ko actually, yung hair ko sa arm ganyan, sa legs haha."

Do you wax or shave your body hair?
"Hindi po ako nagpapawax, di po ako nagsheshave, tinitrim ko lang po hindi ko po sya inuubos kapag makapal lang trim lang bawas kaunti."

Czech Republic Docu Fest Features the Philippines as Country in Focus in 2022

One of Europe’s leading documentary film festivals spotlight the Philippines for the upcoming Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival (IDFF)  in Jihlava, Czech Republic, for 2022.

A partnership between the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and the organizers of Ji.hlava was signed to formally lay out the research and retrospective of Philippine documentary films bound to be presented at the 26th edition of IDFF set on October 25 to 30, 2022.

It was announced in last year’s Ji.hlava closing event that the Philippines would be featured as IDFF’s country in focus for this year.

Around 18 Filipino films have been featured for exhibition and competition in the various categories of IDFF for the past 10 editions. In 2014, the festival honored a tribute for the Father of Filipino Independent Film, Kidlat Tahimik, who also conducted a Masterclass for the participants that same year.

What started from a group of high school students in 1997, IDFF turned to be a significant gathering of over 1 000 documentary film professionals 25 years later, making it one of the most important documentary film festivals in Central and Eastern Europe.

FDCP CEO & Chairperson Liza Diño notes, “Ji.hlava focuses on featuring documentary, hybrid, and experimental documentary films—which I believe to be one of our strong suits. Our country and our talents have a lot to offer in this genre, and I’m proud that our country will get special attention in next year’s edition. It is an event that is worth looking forward to every year.”

Two Filipino documentary films competed in the recently concluded IDFF 2021 — Liryc Dela Cruz's Santelmo, under the Opus Bonum competition section, where the selected films competed for the Best World Documentary Film prize. And Mother’s Land (Panambi) by Jane Mariane Biyo, Katya Marie Corazon Puertollano, and Myra Angeline Soriaso for the Short Joy competition, the counterpart section for short documentary films.

PH also played a big part in the festival's latest edition as Khavn De La Cruz, a prominent name in the local independent cinema, designed its official spot. Aside from this notable participation, he has been in collaboration with the festival to lead its Academy workshop for upcoming filmmakers and is among the jurors and authors of the festival diary. Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival has been following the filmmaker’s works since 2006.

The Ji.hlava (IDFF) is one of the festivals where winners are granted eligibility for pre-selection on the prestigious Academy Awards (better known as the Oscars) and the European Film Award.

FDCP Selects 2 Filipina Producers to Represent PH in Rotterdam Lab 2022

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has selected two emerging female producers as the country’s representatives in the 22nd Rotterdam Lab of the of the 51st International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in the Netherlands.

Stella Laguda of KT House Productions and Carmela Acol of TEN17P add to this year’s roster of selected budding producers, with 46 women out of 73, in the Rotterdam Lab 2022 for the IFFR Pro, the business counterpart of the festival, that will be held online from January 24 to 28, 2022.

The FDCP as an international partner of the IFFR Pro and the eligible party to nominate participants in the country, issued a Call for Applicants last December 2021 for emerging producers who have at least two short films and are working on a feature film with the aim to co-produce and network internationally.

KT House Productions’ Laguda is the writer and director of “Si Kulit at si Pilya (Kulit and Pilya)” and “Ibang Daan Pauwi (The Other Way Home).” She also worked on Gilb Baldoza’s “Hindi mo naman ako iiwan, di ba?” (as production manager) and producer of Austin Tan’s “Happy Birthday, Mylene! 2023 ka na (Happy 2023rd Birthday Mylene!)” and “Kung Nakakapagsalita Lang ang mga Halaman” (If Only Plants Could Talk).

At present, Laguda is producing “The Gay and the Dying World” by Baldoza and “RA 8941 or How We Recall Lost Memories in Transit” by Tan which is a Fiction Lab alumni of FDCP and Tatino Films’ Full Circle Lab Philippines, a capacity-building program for Filipino and Southeast Asian filmmakers that aims to support film projects’ development and post-production process in order to enhance its artistic and audience potentials focusing on storytelling.

Meanwhile, Acol of TEN17P is the production associate for marketing for Paul Soriano’s “Siargao,” production associate for Soriano’s “First Love” and RC Delos Reyes’ “Mary, Marry Me,” and associate producer for Carlo Ledesma’s “Sunod,” Delos Reyes’ “Love the Way U Lie,” and Fifth Solomon’s “The Exorsis.” She is currently working on the

Philippine adaptation of the South Korean romantic comedy “My Sassy Girl” by Solomon and “The Entitled” by Theodore Boborol as associate producer.

“For two consecutive years, we have been represented by exceptional emerging Filipina producers in the Rotterdam Lab. This will be an invaluable moment for our local producers at the start of their film production career, for them to learn more about the international networking opportunities and create lasting connections,” said FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño.

Now on its second online edition, the Rotterdam Lab 2022 has chosen participants who are at the start of their career that will get to learn about international film financing, sales, and distribution through workshops, pitching training, and active and open round-table sessions with industry experts. Additionally, the selected producers will have access to the CineMart Online, the festival’s co-production market.

As part of its project and talent development programs, the Agency is consistent in opening opportunities to expose Filipino producers to international networking platforms. In the past years, the FDCP had selected and supported producers to participate in film markets such as the Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film - Cannes Producers Network, the Berlinale Co-Production Market of the Berlin International Film Festival, and Locarno Pro - Match Me! Program of the Locarno Film Festival.

The Rotterdam Lab for talent development is designed to build up emerging producers’ international network and experience. Also part of the IFFR Pro initiatives are the CineMart, the Hubert Bals Fund for independent cinema, and IFFR Pro Hub which offers masterclasses, panels, debates, and professional services.
