Cheovy Walter is Mister Grand Philippines 2023!

 

After grueling hours of waiting the newest representative of the Philippines to the Mister Grand International pageant on January 14, 2024 in Spain has been finally crowned and he is Cheovy Walter of San Pascual, Batangas. 

The 22-year-old Batangueno Social Media influencer bested 35 other candidates to bag the Mister Grand Philippines title. 

Aside from Cheovy, several titles were also given and that includes Mister Tourism World for Jether Palomo of San Fernando City, Raed El Zein of FilCom of UAE got the Mister Worldwide International, Quezon City's Redd Arcega bagged the Mister Teen Glam title, Pangasinan's PJ Rosario was named as Mister World Fitness Supermodel.

In less than a month, Air Supply will be performing live in the Philippines! Get ready to sing along with the iconic Australian soft rock duo as they return to Sta. Rosa, Laguna, for another SOLD OUT show at the Santa Rosa Sports Coliseum on December 15, 2023, for their “The Lost in Love Experience 2023” concert tour. 

Air Supply achieved widespread success in the 1970s and 1980s. The duo consists of singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock. They had a succession of hits worldwide, including eight top-5 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100. One of the hits is their timeless classic song “Lost in Love”, which was released in Australia in 1978 and again soared to the top of the charts. After almost a decade, Shake, Rattle, and Roll is making a comeback on the big screen, starring Jane Oineza, Jane de Leon, and Iza Calzado. The three-part horror movie was directed by Jerold Tarog, Joey de Guzma, and Richard V Somes. 

The 16th edition of Shake Rattle and Roll takes on the story of influencers trapped inside a house, a zombie apocalypse, and a nightmare before Christmas.

Nikko Nackaerts: The Athletic Guy

There’s nothing sexier than a guy who has the good looks, a great body, and has the brains to complete the overall package and our Guy for November, Nikko Nackaert definitely has all and he is more than ready to showcase those to you in this month’s feature! 

Our chilled out hunk don't chill when it comes to fitness and sports, Nikko who used to be a part of his university's football program keeps himself fit and healthy at all time. His favorite workout is anything that would push him further and will give him strength.

Nikko worked as a gym trainer before he joined a pageant, his usual routine would be work, workout, sleep and that has been his life cycle for quite some time now.

These days, Nikko is working as a freelance model and having the best physique and best look is definitely a must to snag many modeling gig.

Read our conversation below and get to know Nikko's workout routines, diet, and skin care.

1. Being an athlete, you are definitely very fit, but how do you maintain your body fit and healthy? How would you describe your lifestyle? 

“Let’s go back before the pageant kasi yun yung pinaka I would say easiest to explain how my lifestyle was, my lifestyle was very consistent I worked in a gym and worked out in the same gym so ang ginagawa ko bago ako mag shift and duty I would work out and then I would work out with other people, yung mga clients ko I would train them.

 

I would say I have a very boring lifestyle haha, kasi very consistent talaga yung regimen ko, work, workout, work, sleep, paulit ulit yung cycle na yun. 

Discipline din, I try to always push myself in the gym, get stronger, that’s my main goal talaga, that’s how I achieved the body that you all see in the pictures, in the pageant, getting stronger was my goal and whatever happens to my body from that is just a byproduct.” 

   

2. Do you have a fixed workout routine that you follow? What’s your favorite and least favorite workout? 

“My favorite workout is anything talaga that would push myself further, strength training lang so there’s always consistently deadlift, squats, bench press, and shoulder press, yung apat na yung pinaka basic lifts that I always do, i enjoy doing them, I gained most out of them. 

My least favorite workout is cardio haha, I don’t like doing cardio haha.”

3. How about diet? Are you conscious of the foods that you eat? What are the things you avoid and you take? 

“My diet, lunch ko chicken breast, dinner ko was porkchop, and I would have that for the past year haha, it’s not because I don’t want to eat anything else it is because I just don’t want to think about eating something else. 

Mas naiistress ako mag isip kung anong kakainin ko, its boring pero masarap naman sya haha.” 

4. Let’s talk about skin care, do you have any? 

“Yung skin care ko galing sa girlfriend ko, siya lagi yung nagsasabi kung anong gagamitin ko kung ano yung mga new products na available na maganda para sa akin, yung mga affordable products na kaya kong bilhin yung mga ganun. 

She works for Happy Skin as a product developer so she’s really into make-up, skin care, so I trust her with that. 

So my skin care sana kabisado ko hahaha, ayun facial wash is mild facial wash tapos toner, moisturizer, eye cream, sometimes I use to do tretinoin. Pinaka worry ko kasi sa skin care is that I am half Belgian, so that’s half European, I am half white and white people don’t have the best skin, sensitive.” 

5. What part of your body do you consider as your favorite and what part of your body do you think needs improvement? 

“My favorite part of my body is my back, because I like the way it looks. It’s my back because it helps the posture talaga. That's the main thing about the back. It's not just for aesthetics, it's for the posture, walking, sitting up straight, para di ka mangalay pag naka tayo, it all comes from the back. So yung slouch natin comes from the weak back so kailangan strengthen ang likod para maganda yung posture. 

Needs improvement yung calves ko, I have thin calves, I always thought I have thin calves kahit nagfofootball ako hindi ko alam bakit di siya lumalaki, ayun I work it out, lumaki na to last year haha lumaki naman siya so I am okay with it pero I don’t want to say it's not my favorite, needs improvement lang hahaha.”

Dua lipa Releases New Single "Houdini"

“This track represents the most light and freeing parts of my singledom,” says Dua. “’Houdini’ is very tongue in cheek, exploring the idea of whether someone is really worth my while or if I’ll ghost them in the end. "Houdini" was written by Lipa, along with Caroline Ailin, Danny L. Harle, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, a group who served as core collaborators throughout the project, and was produced by Parker and Harle. “A lot of this album was written in those joyous moments of absolute chaos and how I moved through the world with lightness and optimism of whatever the outcome may be,” says Dua.

Nikko Nackaerts: The Chilled-Out Hottie

We say hello to a new month and that means we are welcoming the new hunk that will be our Guy for the month of November, so let's all get ready to meet the hunky and sexy, Nikko Nackaerts. 

Nikko Nackaerts is a 26-year-old, half Filipino and half Belgian fitness buff and model. Despite being half belgian, Nikko was raised here in the Philippines. He graduated from UP Diliman with a degree in Education back in 2020.  

For our first week, we get to know Nikko as the pageant guy that made our heads turn in the recently concluded Misters of Filipinas pageant, it was his first time to join a national pageant and well he did really well on his first try, finishing in the Top 12 of the competition representing his hometown, Taytay, Rizal. 

Not a bad feat for a newbie in pageantry, right? We get to know more of Nikko’s pageant experience as he shares his experience and will he be joining again?

1. What keeps you busy? 

“Right now after the pageant medyo nag chill na muna ako, I didn’t want to work underneath a company agad, because I knew that I want to continue this career path I got into now after the pageant. 

Right now I am open working as freelance, it’s not really consistent like employed, but might as well start now.“ 

2. How would you describe your student life? 

“Very chill, just the same way as I am now, very chill pa din. Being a student, like yung course ko nga actually four year course lang pero ginawa ko siyang six years eh haha, I didn’t wanna rush finishing college in four years kasi madami nagsasabi na alumni na being a student is the best part of your life like wala kang kailangan isipin, papasok ka lang sa school, magaaral ka lang, tapos uuwi ka na, or do whatever you want, go out, drink, hangout with your friends, unlike when you’re employed you can’t do those things when you’re employed you have to set boundaries, set limits to yourself, and hangang weekend na lang yung labasan nyo. 

As a student I was very chill lang talaga, if ang minimum requirement ng course is 15 units I will only get 15 units haha minimum lang talaga, para I have other time to do things that I want. 

3. What are your realizations and take away after joining your first ever pageant?

“Biggest realization is super gastos pala niya, very unaware of what I went into sobrang di ko alam anong pinasukan ko haha, pero nandun na ko wala na kong choice I had to see what I could do kailangan makaraos din and I think I did well din naman. 

Ang gastos pala nya, I didn’t know prior to coming in to the pageant I didn’t know what a pageant really was, I was expecting na parang lalabas kami on stage meron kaming suit na bigay nila (organizers) tapos yun okay na yung pageant tapos na, I didn’t know it will go on for two months, I didn’t know we’ll go to Cebu, sobrang daming experience, but it’s really fun. “  

4. Would you join a pageant again? 

“Uhm, I would join again if I don’t have to spend this much anymore haha, the experience was really fun, I would join again pero ngayon na alam ko na yung pinapasukan ko kailangan ko talaga maghanap ng sponsors.

Kung may sponsors na ko madali na siguro yun, I would join again.”
