Joshua de Sequera: Man on the Hunt Part 2

The Finale of the Manhunt International is happening in a few days, October 1 to be exact.

We get to know more of Joshua de Sequerra's fitness journey in this feature.

  1. Being an athlete and a model as well, how do you keep your body in shape?

“Mornings usually goes like this, I wake up at 8am, I automatically make a protein shake or smoothy so that’s two spoons of peanut butter and whey protein, oatmeal, and two scrambled eggs in the morning, plus isang glass of water and then Gym for two hours, paguwi lunch.

Lunch would be 250 grams of chicken breast or thighs, three eggs and maybe a ⅓ of a cup of rice ganon, so medyo low carb kasi yung diet ko ngayon. Tapos yung merienda would kinda be the same thing pero konti lang yung eggs either two eggs or yung protein medyo mababa.

Pero yung dinner yun yung medyo malaki, I’ll gonna have fish, with some greens tapos konting rice din, kasi right now specially for Manhunt ginagawa ko is low carb para mas punit, mas punit yung itsura(ng body) hindi sya yung maga, gusto ko yung punit hindi maga ganun yung dating.

So that’s how keep myself healthy, no fried foods, no sugar, no overeating of carbohydrates, it may look kinda boring pero if you want to stay with yung model body or physique talaga. you have to keep it that way.

  1. Do you follow any workout routines, any favorite or least favorite workout?

“I hate lower body days, so that’s legs, I hate doing legs, legs are the worst for me kasi it’s so hard and yung legs ko kasi medyo mahina and it’s weird kasi atleta ako, pero for some reason nakakatalon ako ng mataas pero I can’t lift heavy weights with my legs.

Yung favorite ko talaga is yung upper workouts, yung favorite workout ko sa upper body is ofcourse yung arms, biceps, triceps, shoulders. Then yung second favorite ko is yung chest, and other than that is yung back.”

  1. How about diet? What are the foods that you take and you avoid?

“ Yung diet ko medyo strict now, pero I think I’ll continue this even after manhunt, I don’t eat pork and beef, ang binibili ko is chicken, fish, and minsan eggs, brown rice ganun. That’s basically what I eat.“

  1. Favorite part of your body and part of your body you think that needs improvement?

Favorite part siguro ano yung shoulders ko, kasi I think swabe yung shoulders ko eh and yung pinaka least favorite ko sa katawan ko is yung legs ko kasi yun nga yung family namin medyo payat talaga yung legs namin, like nakita mo naman yung legs ni mama diba. I think namana ko yung legs nya haha.

It’s a bit hard to gain muscles down there sa legs, pero right now I am gaining a bit so that’s a good sign.”

Bulot joins the award-winning and chart-topping band following former lead singer Kean Cipriano’s departure in June 2022, as he is "moving on" after less than two decades with the band. Hence, Lily, in collaboration with Lx2 Entertainment, opened national auditions to aspiring artists in search of their newest member.

A freelance model and songwriter on the side, Bulot bested over 100 hopefuls and was hailed as the band’s new lead vocalist on September 18’s Grand Finals held at VistaMall Antipolo in Rizal.

Prior to joining Lily, he was a former member of JBK boy band with Bryan del Rosario and Kim Lawrenz Ordonio as the other members, with the group emerging as the grand champion of the first Dreams Get Real: The Search for the Next OPM Star by McJim Classic Leather. He also breathes life into the highly-acclaimed theater piece Rak of Aegies as Tolits, with original Rak cast members Robert Seña and his wife Isay Alvarez, Aicelle Santos, Kim Molina, and Jon Santos, among others.

Exciting new, relatable songs, local and international tours, and more await fans as the six-man band gears up for more. The band — composed of mainstays Lem Belaro, Nathan Reyes, and Aaron Ricafrente, including notable member Alden Acosta — previously released its new name and official logo, which marks "a new beginning" for its members.

This iconic band entered the music scene in 2005 with their songs "Magbalik," "Stars," and "Pasan," all from their debut album titled Destination XYZ. Callalily is also the pop rock band behind hit songs "Pansamantala," "Ex," and more.

Japan-affiliated telco InfiniVAN’s Submarine Cable Network project with Globe and Eastern Communications marks new milestone

Following the landmark Subic Cable Loading Event in July, InfiniVAN, Inc. in a joint-build project with two other Philippine telcos, completed the Siargao landing of a segment of the Philippine Domestic Submarine Cable Network (PDSCN) in the Municipality of Dapa, Siargao Island on September 22.

InfiniVAN, Inc., a subsidiary of Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed IPS, Inc. (TSE: 4390) took part in the ceremonial cable pulling event of fiber optic cables that is part of the ongoing cable laying phase of PDSCN. Five (5) of the 24 segments have already been completed to date.

The cable-pulling ceremony was witnessed by Dapa Mayor Elizabeth T. Matugas, Vice Mayor Gerry Abejo and municipal officials along with representatives from InfiniVAN, Inc., Globe Telecom, and Eastern Communications. Once completed, the $150-million joint project that spans around 2,500 km will provide ultra-fast and reliable connectivity across the country.

InfiniVAN, Inc. Chief Technology Officer Alberto “Abet” Espedido said that aside from connecting major islands in the country, the project is designed to bring connectivity to tourist destination islands to further boost tourism and other industries in those places.

“We see this as an opportunity to fulfill our objective of providing connectivity to far flung areas. We hope that the project does not only provide good communications infrastructure to Siargao but also help pump-prime the island’s economy,” he said.

Espedido shared that the fiber optic cable technology used in the country’s biggest and longest submarine cable installation is “future-proof.” This means unrepeatered 96- core fiber cables used in the project can handle large data throughputs that can be further expanded through advances in terminal equipment over the next 20 to 25 years.

This InfiniVAN-initiated submarine cable project is a cost-effective solution to building a massive and extensive transmission network through a joint-build arrangement with Globe, the Philippines’ leading digital solutions platform and Eastern Communications, premier telecommunications and ICT solutions provider.

“We consider it an achievement, as a new entrant in the market, to be working with well-established partners on this project that will really make a difference in the next few years. It is gratifying to have so-called industry competitors join hands to provide a very precious resource to our countrymen and the country as a whole, in a most unselfish manner,” Espedido added.

The Express and Western routes connecting Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be ready by December this year and the remaining Eastern routes will be completed by April 2023.
