#NCAA92 Day 34: CSB Notch First Win To End Season 79, Mapua Repulse Perpetual Help, San Beda Force Playoffs


Finally the CSB Blazers notches their first win of the season at the expense of the Lyceum Pirates 65-61, the Blazers avoided a 0-18 record for season 92. 

The Blazers had a good start to open the game with an 18-13 advantage in the first period, but just like in their other games the Blazers wasn't able to sustain their strong start as they dropped the next to quarters giving the Pirates a 30-26 lead at the end of the first half and ending the third still down 47-41. 

In the final period the Blazers started to erase the huge lead that the Pirates established early in the final period, Using a 17-3 run the Benilde was able to take over the lead again at 59-57. 

Clement Leutcheu led the Blazers with 18 points, Edward Dixon and Yankie Haruna added 12 and 11 points, the Blazers end the season with a 1-17 record. 

Meanwhile, Reymar Caduyac and Wilson Baltazar led the Pirates with 11 points each, Mike Nzeusseu added 10 points as the Pirates ends the season with a 6-12 record.

The Mapua Cardinals were able to pull the Perpetual Help Altas down to the fourth spot after defeating them 67-63, the Cardinals are now up in third spot.

The Cardinals were up early in the game taking a big 23-13 lead to open the game, but entering the second period the Cards went down, producing only 9 points giving way for the Perps to take over the lead 37-32 at the end of the first half.

Perpetual continues to dominate the Cardinals as they extend their lead up 61-50, but going to the final quarter a sudden change in the game of the Perps changed the pace of the game as they only scored only two points from free throws to give the Cardinals the chance to win the game.

Allwell Oraeme led the Cardinals with 14 points and 24 rebounds to put the Cardinals on third spot with a 12-6 record. On the side of the Altas, Prince Eze and GJ Ylagan combined 22 points  in losing efforts as Perpetual Help drops to fourth with an 11-7 record.

The San Beda proved that they are still a top contender for the season 92 crown after they outlast another top contender Arellano in a 91-81 ball game.

It was a tight start for both squads with the Chiefs taking an early 16-11 lead, but the Red Lions were able to roar back to take over the lead 27-24 lead in the opening period.

San Beda continues to dictate the pace of the game even though Arellano was just in a striking distance threatening to retake the driver seat, but still the Red Lions survived the threat of the Chiefs to end the first half still on top 47-42.

In the third period the Red Lions were able to pull away midway of the third taking a 68-53 lead, the Chiefs started to slow down as they had a hard time answering baskets from the guys in red ending the third period 75-62.

Arellano tried to catch up in the final period trimming the lead of San Beda down to 5, 76-81. But the Red Lions were able to repulse the late run of the Chiefs to force a play off for the top spot as they both finish the elimination with a 14-4 record.

Javee Mocon has been the steady leader of the Red Lions, having 19 points and 15 rebounds in this game, Davon Potts and Acee Soberano added 18 and 15 points respectively.

Meanwhile, Jiovani Jalalon led the Chiefs in losing efforts having 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Lervin Flores and Kent Sallado both added 13 points.

The play offs will be on Tuesday, September 27.
