In the first game of Game day Thursday, returning Josan Nimes carries the Mapua Cardinals in their win against the San Sebastian Stags 87-78 to still keep their final four hopes breathing as they go up to a 6-5 record.
It was yet another close first half between the Cardinals and the Stags ending it at 45-43, but as both squads enter the second half Mapua pushes their lead dominating San Sebastian in the third quarter with a 10 point lead 67-57. In the fourth period the Stags managed to get close to the Cardinals with just a 5 point lead by the Cardinals at 83-78 with less than a minute left, but Mapua's Josan Nimes was eager to seal the win for the Cardinals with a 4-0 run.
Josan Nimes poured 18 points in his return for the cardinals, meanwhile Jamil Oruouste's 23 point performance didn't save the win for the Stags as they fall to a 3-9 record.

In the second game the San Beda Red Lions escapes past the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers 83-75 to get the number one seed in the rankings with 10-2 record.
Even with San Beda dominating the boards JRU was able to keep the whole game close, even snatching the lead by the Red Lions in the mid part of the third quarter after an 8-0 run by Tey Teodoro to turn the 64-60 lead of San Beda to a 67-69 lead for the Heavy Bombers. But Ola Adeogun quickly responds as he led the Red Lions 13-2 run to take back the lead to 82-71 with two minutes left in the game.
Art Dela Cruz again had a huge game producing a triple double performance of 26 points 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, adding to that is Ola Adeogun's 23 points and 12 rebounds. Meanwhile on the other side Paolo Pontejos lead the scoring for JRU with 19 points, while Tey Teodoro added 16 points for the Heavy Bombers.
