#UAAPLXXIX Day 18: La Salle Stop Streaking Maroons, UST End Losing Skid at the Expense of The Bulldogs.

The De La Salle Green Archers puts a stop on the winning treak of the UP Fighting Maroons after an intense 78-72 ball game awhile ago at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Green Archers were off to a hot start taking an early 25-9 lead early in the opening quarter , though going to the second period the Maroons were able to recover, cutting the lead of La Salle down 34-41 tot end the first half. 

The Maroons kept on fighting in the second half, as they become more pesky specially in defense they were able to limit La Salle to just 14 points in the third period and they were also able to get as close as 42-39, but still the Green Archers were able to keep their lead at the end of the third 55-48. 

La Salle was able to regain a more comfortable cushion at 64-52, but the Maroons didn't gave up easily as they were still able to cut the lead of the Green Archers down to a 67-75. 

Jeron Teng returns with a bang as he top scored for La Salle with 21 points, while Ben Mbala dominates the paint again having a 17 points and 20 rebounds, Thomas Torres had 13 points for the Green Archers as they stay undefeated after 9 games. 

On the side of the Maroons, rookie Javi Gomez De Liano showed another promising performance having 11 points, that's 63% field goal shooting the highest for UP, usual scorer Paul Desiderio and Jett Manuel combined 29 points as they drop to 3-7.

The UST Tigers finally growls back to end their five game losing streak at the expense of the NU Bulldogs after defeating them in a 73-69 match. 

UST had an early scoring romp as they were able to take a dominant run against the Bulldogs to open the game with a 22-14 lead, but going to the second period NU was successful to make a comeback as they were able to erase the lead of the Tigers and tie the game at 34 at the end of the first half. 

In the second half UST was successful to make a run after a stiff start between them and the Bulldogs at the start of the third period as they were able to take a 51-47 cushion to finish of the third. 

The Tigers continues to pull away in the final period extending their lead up 67-54, they continue to punish the misfiring Bulldogs as they were able to maintain their lead even though the NU tried to make a comeback in the dying seconds of the game. 

Marvin Lee, Louie Vigil, and Jon Sheriff led the growl of the tigers, combining 61 points for UST as they move up to 3-7, Meanwhile Matt Salem had 20 points for the Bulldogs, Alfred Aroga added 13 points and 15 rebound, Rev Diputado scored 12 for NU as they go down 4-5
