#UAAPLXXIX Day 14: Adamson Tame Growling Tigers, FEU Overcome Bulldogs Late Run.



The Adamson Soaring Falcons tamed the Growling Tigers of UST after a 79-52 win to end the first round on a  high note.

The Falcons soars high early in the game taking a 22-19 lead in the first period, going to the second period both squads struggling to find rhythm inside the court making 11-10 quarter output to end the first half with Adamson taking a 33-29 lead.

Adamson gets out of the slump entering the second half with a bang, pushing the Tigers down after a huge 26-8 run to end the third with a 59-37 advantage.

The hardship continues for UST in the final period as they can't chase down the Soaring Falcons as they extend their lead up to 27 early in final period.

Papi Sarr led the Falcons with a monster double-double performance, having 16 points and 25 rebounds, Nicholas Paranada added 14 points, while Jerrick Ahanmisi and Rob Manalang added 11 and 10 points.

Kent Lao had 13 points to lead the UST in losing efforts, Marvin Lee added 10 points as UST drops to 2-5.

The FEU Tamaraws survived the late surge of the NU Bulldogs after a 78-75 ball game to end the first round in solo second with a 5-2 record. 

Consistency and Resiliency were the keys for FEU's win over the Bulldogs in this game, starting off the match with an early lead at 17-14 in the first period. The Tamaraws continues to dictate the pace of the game in the second period even though the Bulldogs were able to stay in striking distance. NU was able to get as close as 32-28 in the second period, but still the Tamaraws were able to end the first half up 39-32. 

The Bulldogs kept chasing FEU in the second half, but the Tamaraws outside shooting kept NU at bay in the third at 59-50. In the final period the Tamaraws extended their lead up to 66-53, at that point NU's JJay Alejandro started off am 18-5 scoring run that tied the game at 71. But Ron Dennison was able to stop the run of NU to give FEU a slim 73-71 lead. 

FEU's outside shooting was their biggest advantage coming into this game, having a 52.63% three point shooting efficiency against NU's 10%. Also the Tamaraws dominates the Bulldogs in terms of ball rotation having 19 assists against 9 of NU. 

Monbert Arong led the charge of FEU having another career high 20 points, Inno Comboy added 14 points, Richard Escoto had 10 points, while Axel Inigo had 12 points all came from the three point area, making him a 100% three point shooter in this game with 4/4 3pt shooting. 

Jjay Alejandro's 31 point output and Alfred Aroga's 14 points and 14 rebounds didn't materialize as the Bulldogs drops to fourth with a 4-3 record to end the first round.
