It was a slow start for the Red Warriors, giving Adamson the opportunity to take an early 14-7. Going to the second period the Falcons soar higher as they take the full control of the game with UE still struggling to end the half down 21-30.
Entering the second half, UE starts to comeback to life, making runs to cut the lead of Adamson down 40-45 in the third period. The Red Warriors had a huge fourth quarter surge, outscoring Adamson 24-12 to take the victory.
Alvin Pasaol and RR De Leon combined 25 points to lead the Red Warriors. Pape Sarr lead the Falcons in losing efforts scoring a double-double 13 points and 25 rebounds, Jerrick Ahanmisi added 10 points.

The De La Salle Green Archers ends the first round of elimination with a bang after they take their seventh straight win with a dominant and statement win against their bitter rivals Ateneo Blue Eagles 97-81.
The game started neck and neck for both squads as they ended the opening period tied at 20, but going to the second period the Green Archers changed the pace of the game as they put Ateneo in the eye of the storm leaving them hapless after a 33-16 output to establish a dominant 53-36 lead.
The storm continues to weather the flight of the Blue Eagles, entering the second half as they weren't able to find answers to La Salle's dominant offense and defense. The lead of the Green Archers ballooned as high as 27 points in the third period, the game intensifies as well as frustrations sink in on the side of Ateneo. The third period ended with Lasalle still having a commanding 80-58.
In the fourth period the Blue Eagles finally was able to make a mini run to gain a little momentum in the final minutes to catch up with La Salle. The guys in blue were able to outscore the greens in the final period 23-17, but that wasn't enough to at least trim the deficit down to single digit.
Ben Mbala had 28 points and 13 rebounds, Mbala had 11 out of 13 field goal output in this game, Andrei Caracut added 14 points. Adrian Wong led the scorers on the side of Ateneo with 15 points,
Matt Nieto had 13 points, while Thirdy Ravena and Anton Asistio contributed 11 points each.
