#UAAP78 Day 22: FEU Dominate Falcons, NU Stay Alive



In the first game of the midweek games of the UAAP at the Mall of Asia Arena, Far Eastern University dominated the Adamson University 82-68 to stay on top of the standing with 10-1 record before the league goes to a week long break.

The FEU Tamaraws made an early move to take control of the game as they led the Falcons early in the game 23-18 at the of the first period, the story in the second period was not far away from the first as the Tamaraws were already able to build a solid defense and steady offense as they were able to take a 43-33 lead to end the first half.

A complete domination happened in the third period as FEU's shooting heats up anew early in the period, leaving Adamson behind 66-50 to end the quarter, In the last 10 minutes of regulation the Falcons were able to take flight as they made a 14-2 run to closed in at 68-64, but FEU immediately responded a quick 14-1 run to stop the Falcons from scoring till the end of the game.

Balanced ball rotation was the key to FEU's 10th win, as they were able to maximize the scoring of almost all of the players they fielded in the game, 8 players scored more than seven points in the game with Russell Escoto topping the score sheet with 13 points, meanwhile Mike Tolomia didn't show any signs of injury as he played 26 minutes in this game.

On the other side, Jerome Garcia and Joseph Nalos combined 31 points for the Falcons as they go down 2-10..

In the second game, the defending champions NU Bulldogs keeps their final four hopes alive after defeating the DLSU Green Archers 81-73.

It was a close and tight race between the two squad with NU taking the first two quarters with just a slim lead over the Green Archers, the first half ends at 32-30. In the second half La Salle finally were able to snatch the lead 53-49.

In final period La Salle still were able to extend and maintain their lead, but all of a sudden the Bulldogs took over the lead at 57-55 at that point La Salle's offense and defense started to collapse as NU, though Jeron Teng were able to keep the Green Archers alive in the dying minutes of the game it was the three point shooting of the Bulldogs that pulled them up in the last few ticks of the game sending the La Salle to their second straight loss.

JJay Alejandro again led the bite of the Bulldogs with 25 points, adding to that is Paolo Javelona's 14 points as they put NU to 5-7 record, while on the other side it was Jeron Teng who led the Green Archers with 25 points, while rookie Andrei Caracut added 18 points as the Green Archers dropped to 5-6.
