#UAAPLXXIX Day 24: Tamaraws Loses to Adamson. Fighting Maroons Eliminate UST

The FEU Tamaraws snapped their winning streak after a controversial 59-61 defeat against the Adamson Falcons.

Coming from a two week break the Tamaraws didn’t show any sign of holiday jitters as they kicked off the opening quarter with a 17-9 lead, going to the second  period the Falcons soared high as they were able to erase the lead of FEU and took over the game at 30-29 before Stephen Roxas banked a buzzer beating three to end the first half with FEU still on top 32-30.

Going to the second half the Tamaraws were plagued with turn overs as they had a hard time in handling the ball, Adamson was able to grab the opportunity to take control of the game after the Tamaraws had major defensive lapses in the third as they end it down 44-46.

In the final period the Falcons continues to trample FEU, extending their lead up to 5, but the Tamaraws didn’t gave away the game easily as they were able to make a comeback in going to the last minute of the game, cutting the lead of Adamson to a single point deficit at 59-60.

3.8 seconds left in the clock with FEU still with the ball for the inbound, Adamson was called for a foul, but the referees reversed the call, instead calling it as a travelling violation against Monbert Arong, killing the chances of FEU to atleast tie or win the game.

Adamson survived the game to keep their final four hopes alive with Sean Manganti and Rob Manalang leading the scoring for the Falcons with 14 and 12 points respectively.

Raymar Jose was the only Tamaraw to score in double digit, having 16 points with 9 rebounds. FEU were forced to commit 27 turnovers and were only got 4points out of 8 freethrows.
