The National University Bulldogs snapped their six game losing streak at the expense of the still struggling University of the East Red Warriors 64-52.
The Bulldogs didn't open the game strong as they were only able to score 9 points in the opening quarter against the 12 of UE, though going to the second quarter they were able to keep the game close to end the first half tied at 32-32.
Going to the second half, the Red Warriors still has a slim lead against NU at the end of the third 45-44, but the Bulldogs bit hard in the final period as they take over the game and began to pull away, leaving UE down to just 7 point quarter production in the final period against the 20 of NU.
Matt Salem top scored for the Bulldogs with 20 points 18 of which came from the three point area, Alfred Aroga had 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Chino Mosqueda had 11 points as well. Jjay Alejandro added 10 points for the Bulldogs as they stay alive in the final four race.
Meanwhile, Alvin Pasaol was the lone Red Warrior to score in double digit, having 10 points and 10 Rebounds. The UE Red Warriors are now out of the final four contention

The Ateneo Blue Eagles finally puts a stop to the DLSU Green Archers Mayhem as they dealt the latter of their first defeat 83-71 to kick off the return of UAAP coming from a two week hiatus.
The Blue Eagles takes off early in the game taking an early 23-16 lead in the opening quarter, though La Salle kept the game close in the second period still they go down 36-44 at the end of the half.
The Green Archers gets a little bit more sloppy in the third period as Ateneo extends their advantage to a 61-50 ball game at the end of the quarter. Going to the final period La Salle tried to play catch up, but the Blue Eagles were unstoppable as they were able to secure the game even with the Greens getting aggressive inside the court.
Aaron Black and Matt Nieto combined 31 points for the Blue Eagles as the get closer to the second spot, meanwhile Jeron Teng's 18 points and Ben Mbala's 17 points and 15 rebounds weren't enough to keep La Salle's immaculate record.
