They say that a person has shared several goodness in their lifetime when a Green Bone is found in their remains, and when a green bone is found, it is said that in some cultures it signifies luck, prosperity, and good fortune.
This year at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival, GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs have teamed up with Brightburn Entertainment to present another masterpiece by Zig Dulay, titled 'Green Bones'.
"Green Bones" follows the story of a PDL or a Person Deprived of Liberty named Domingo Zamora (Dennis Trillo) who was convicted of killing his own sister to begin the story, dubbed as a notorious criminal, Domingo was one of those PDL who was transferred at the San Fabian Prison and Penal Farm, the biggest prison island outside of Metro Manila.
In one of the press conference for the movie, Dennis Trillo shared that he has to learn sign language to portray the character who suffered sever mutism after a traumatic experience. Dennis also shared that he really did make an effort to show something different in portraying his character.
As Domingo gets transferred to the San Fabian Penal Colony, here comes Gonzaga (Ruru Madrid), a newly minted Prison Guard and has kept a burden against PDL's due to his tragic past that involves his family that was victimized by criminals. Gonzaga, despite being new, has kept a keen eye on Domingo as he believes that the latter is planning to stage a prison break.
But everything starts to change for Gonzaga as little by little he sees that each and every life of these people deprived of liberty starts to change for the better, he was left asking how does one can say that a person really has changed for the goodness and that includes Domingo.
Ruru Madrid shared in one of his interviews that he is excited in doing this project aside from this is his first lead movie entry in the MMFF the movie offers a very different character for him away from the projects that he's been getting for the past years, he shared that he changed a lot of things when it comes to his acting and he really did stepped out of his comfort zone and embraced the Character of Gonzaga.
'Green Bones' tells the story of endless hope and second chances, revealing that nobody was born evil, but everyone was good until certain circumstances brought them to their unfortunate situations.
The story of Green Bones is written by JC Rubio, screenplay is by the National Artist Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza.
The movie stars Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid, along with best actors in the industry that includes Alessandra de Rossi, Michael De Mesa, Ronnie Lazaro, Ruby Ruiz, Kylie Padilla, with a special participation of Iza Calzado and Nonie Buencamino.
It's the season of hope and goodness this Christmas, celebrate it by watching Green Bones in cinemas starting this December 25.
