After decades of being with the now defunct ABSCBN Sports, the 83 year old University Athletics Association of the Philippines finds a new home in One Sports Channel on Cignal TV.
The five and a half year deal between the UAAP and Cignal TV will start next year, that is from season 83 (2021) until season 88 (2026), by this agreement selected events will be aired live via the One Sports Channel which is exclusive on cable tv, most probably the Basketball for Men's and Volleyball for Women's will secure the spot for live telecast.
There's no details if Cignal TV's free TV channel TV 5 will air the UAAP as well, the incoming UAAP season is hosted by De La Salle University, the league is said to target a 1st quarter of 2021 opening with the Basketball and Volleyball Tournament will be simultaneously be held.
