After months of delay due to the Pandemic we are currently facing, finally the new Miss Universe Philippines is finally crowned and she is none other than Iloilo City's Rabiya Mateo. Rabiya is 24 years old and a Physical Therapist by profession, she graduated Cum Laude at the Iloilo Doctor's College and an advocate of for education for all as she believes that education is the golden ticket to success.
Rabiya Mateo bested 46 other candidates from all over the Philippines including Paranaque's Ysabella Ismael who placed 1st runner up, Michele Gumabao of Quezon City who finished 2nd runner up, Bohol's Pauline Amelincxs who placed 3rd runner up, and Billie Hakenson of Cavite who ended up as 4th runner up.
The coronation of the first ever Miss Universe Philippines Pageant was held the Baguio Country Club, hosted by KC Montero, among the judges includes former Miss Universe Philippines Janine Tugonon and Ariella Arida and Presidential Spokeperson Harry Roque.
The Miss Universe Organization has yet to announce when and where is their pageant going to happen, but rumors are they are eyeing Vietnam as their host.
