In their Launch Night In event that happened today, October 1st in the Philippines, Google finally launched their newest flagship device, the Pixel 5.
The Pixel 5 comes with a 6 inch OLED Screen with a 90hz screen refresh rate housed in an aluminum frame with an additional IP 68 dust and water resistant protection.
Power and Functionality for more is Google's aim for the Pixel 5 although that means that Google Pixel users will not be able to experience the high end Snapdragon 865 processor as the 5 opted for a Snapdragon 765G to make the device 5G ready for a much affordable price.
A 128GB variant will be launched with an 8GB of RAM that is the highest so far among other Pixel Phones, maybe to make it up for the midrange processor.
The most exciting part of every Pixel is its cameras, yeap the Pixel 5 maintains the dual camera setup this time it is finally using a 16 megapixel Ultrawide camera instead of last year's Telephoto lens, the 12.2 megapixel main camera is same as the other Pixel Phones so it is rest assured that the camera experience in the Pixel 5 will be the same.
We are not done yet with the cameras as Google dropped new features and updates for the Google Camera, first is the HDR+ with Bracketing, they also integrated Night Sight on Portrait mode, a Portrait Light feature is also coming for you to be able to adjust the lighting situation on your portrait shots whether selfie or bokeh.
Google also upped their Video recording game as they launched three new video stabilization features, Locked, Active, and the Cinematic Pan.
For the front facing camera, looks like they maintained the single 8 megapixel wide camera that is now house in a punch hole, no more fancy SOLI or Face Unlock as the rear mounted finger print scanner is back in the Pixel 5.
For the longest time Pixel users has been complaining of the poor battery life of every Pixel phones, and finally Google is addressing it as the Pixel 5 is packed with a 4080 mAh battery, the biggest battery capacity ever on a Pixel phone, not only that a feature drop called Extreme Battery Saver that lets you choose essential apps to keep working while everything else go mute, this will be available on older Pixel devices too.
The Pixel 5 supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging as well, it will come in two colors the Just Black and a green one called Sage Green, the Pixel 5 will be available on October 15 for $699 that's roughly at around Php 35000.
