The University of Santo Tomas ended the reign of the defending champions National University 64-55 last Sunday in their semifinals match up held at the Araneta Coliseum.
UST came prepared to end NU's luck as the latter had their worst game this season in the best time they needed it, 15-12 was the score at the end of the first period the closest the defending champs were able to get against the number one team in the league
The Tigers showed dominance in the succeeding quarters as the Bulldogs struggles to create plays and to score, taking advantage of the sloppy offense of NU, the Tigers were able to dominate the next two quarter with the second period ending at 30-20 and the third period ending at 44-32.
The defending champs tried to make a comeback, but fell short as UST already securing their huge lead even with the Bulldogs sorted to fouling Sheriff who missed 8 out of his 12 free throws.
Louie Vigil shines in this win of the Tigers as he scored 19 big points to send UST back to the Finals, meanwhile on the side of the bulldogs the only bright spot was Paolo Javellona with 17 points, he was the only player on the side of NU to score in double digit.
