In the Saturday game day of the UAAP at the Mall of Asia Arena, the UE Red Warriors foils the Twice To Beat dream of the Ateneo Blue Eagles after beating them 74-69.
The Blue Eagles soars high early in the game leading UE 21-16 to end the first period, but in the second period the gritty and young Red Warriors bounces back to take over the lead and end the first half with a huge 35-26 advantage.
Entering the second half, Ateneo slowly trims down the lead of the Red Warriors, but the resilient young UE Squad were able to maintain the lead to end the third period 53-51. The fourth period became more intense as the Blue Eagles started to make a run to again catch up with UE, but their run was already lateas the Red Warriors already bagged the win.
Clark Derige once again take the lead for the Red Warriors as he scored 17 points, while on the blue side Kiefer Ravena scored 28 points for the Blue Eagles.

In the second game, the NU Bulldogs survive their game agaianst the FEU Tamaraws 70-68 to secure at least a play off for the fourth spot against La Salle.
The Tamaraws started the game slow, losing one of their main man Reymar Jose who injured himself during the warm up, with this NU were able to start the game strong with an early 7-0 run over the Tamaraws , but FEU were able to bounce back to end the first period 17-14.
The succeeding quarters were close for both teams with NU taking a slim lead, Gelo Alolino were able to seal the win for the Tamaraws after Mac Belo and Mike Tolomia failed to bank in the basket that could've send the Tamaraws into the win.
Gelo Alolino and and Alfred Aroga scored combined 36 points for the Bulldogs, while Mike Tolomia carried the whole Tamaraws squad with 23 points as they slide to a back to back loss.
