The Green Archers almost suffer the same fate as the Tigers as the Fighting Maroons made a 9-0 run and getting the 68-67 lead over the Archers in the last minutes of the game, But La Salle refused to give the game to UP after scoring in 3 straight plays 73-68,
Norbert Torres leads the Green Archers with a Double double performance of 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Rookie Jeron Teng and Ace Guard LA Revilla teamed up producing 15 points each. While on the other hand Mike Silungan produced 18 points in UP's losing efforts.
On the Second game The Ateneo Blue Eagles knocked off the Adamson Soaring Falcons 73-57 to open up their campaign this season to get the elusive 5 peat championship, After a close 1st half the falcons dropped the close game and gave the Blue Eagles a 10 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter, The falcons seemed to really not to get into groove as the lead ballooned and they where not able to catch up against the Blue Eagles.
Greg Slaughter leads the Blue Eagles producing 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks, followed by Nico Salva producing 14 points, On the other hand Rodney Brondial and Alex Nuyles leads the scoring for the Falcons producing 13 and 12 points respectively.
