After trailing by almost 15 points at the end of the 1st half the UST tigers bounced back in the second half to gain a 4 point lead over the Blue Eagles at the end of the 3rd quarter and for the rest of the 4th quarter the Blue Eagles chased the Tigers to get the lead but UST refused to give it back to Ateneo, in the last 10 seconds of the game Ateneo's Juami Tiongson trimmed down UST's lead to just 1 point making it 71-70 but due to lack of time they weren't able to comeback and win against UST.
Aljon mariano leads the growling tigers producing 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Jeric Teng contributes 16 points and 7 rebounds, Reigning Rookie of the Year Kiefer Ravena leads the Blue Eagles in losing efforts producing 19 points followed by last year's Finals MVP Nico Salva with 17 points.
On the second game The DLSU Green Archers escapes the late run of the UE Red Warriors in the 4th quarter 67-59, The Red Warriors posted a challenge 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter 51-50 but the green archers immediately made a 10-0 run against UE with 3 minutes left on the Ball game.
Rookie Jeron Teng leads the Green Archers in winning after producing 16 points, while on the other hand Former Letran Squire Roi Sumang produced 20 points for the Red Warriors, last game he also produced 21 points on their first game to bad UE is now with a 2-0 record.
