The Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates didn't waste anytime as they fend off the EAC Generals in a dominant 106-97 match at the San Juan Arena.
Lyceum had an explosive start in this match taking an early 30-13 lead over the Generals in the opening quarter, going to the second period EAC was able to find their rhythm inside the court as they were almost able to equalize the output of the Pirates at 25-29. Still Lyceum was able to finish the first half on top with a 21 point lead at 59-38.
The Pirates opens up the second half extending their lead up to 31 points at 72-41, but the Generals were able to make a run to cut the deficit down to just 3, 77-80. But in the final period Lyceum spoiled the comeback that the Generals are mounting as they extend their lead back up 93-83 mid of the last period that secured the win for Lyceum.
Jaycee Marcelino top scored in this game with 24 points and 8 rebounds followed by CJ Perez with 20 points, Ralph Tansingco with 11 and Jayvee Marcelino with 10 points for Lyceum.
Hamadou Laminou had a huge double double performance for EAC with 34 points and 16 rebounds, Jerome Garcia added 20 points, while Jethro Mendoza added 13 and Jess Bautista with 10.

In the second game, the San Sebastian Golden Stags avenges their opening day loss after beating the CSB Blazers 85-78.
Even though the Blazers were able to open the game strong with a slight 27-24 lead in the opening period, the Golden Stags were able to return the favor as they end the first half tied at 44.
It was a tit for tat battle going into the second half as both squads exchanging leads in the third period were CSB regains the lead at 64-63, but in the final period San Sebastian was able to dominate the game taking over the driver seat going to their first victory this season.
Michael Calisaan had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Stags, RK Ilagan added 16 points, Allyn Bulanadi had 13 and JM Calma added 10 points.
Edward Dixon led the Blaxers with 12 points followed by Haruna Yankie with 10 markers.

The Perpetual Help Altas notches their first win this season after outlast the pesky Letran Knights 78-75.
The Altas were able to start strong in the game, but the Knights were able to match it late in the opening quarter taking a slight 23-21 lead at the end of the opening period. Letran was able to open the second period with a 28-21 advantage, but the Altas were able to erase their lead after a 19-0 run to snatch a 40-32 lead in the third period.
In the final period the Knights were able to keep the game close, they even snatched the lead at 73-68, but the Altas turned the tables around taking over at 75-73 lead with less than 2:30 in the clock.
Edgar Charcos had a career high 27 points for the Altas followed by Jelo Razon with 13, Jeffrey Coronel with 12, and Kim Aurin with 10 points.
John Quinto top scored for the Knights with 15 points, JP Calvo added 14, while Jeo Ambohot added 11 and Larry Muyang contributed 10 points.
