#NCAA92 Day 10: Perpetual Help Stun Letran, Mapua Returns To The Winning Column, San Beda Completes A Comeback

The Perpetual Help Altas outlast the defending champions Letran Knight in a tight low scoring ball game 61-55. The first period went really low for the two squad limiting each other to single digit production finishing the period 9-6 in favor of the defending champs.
Entering the second period the Knights made a quick run to extend their lead to 15-8, but the Perps made a run of their own 14-7 to take the lead 23-22, the first half ended with a slim 27-26 lead for the Perps.
In the third the Perps were able to control the game as they were able to keep their lead, though the Knights were able to tie the game again at 39 with 5:27 left in the third. The tight third period ended with the Perps taking a slim 46-45 lead.
In the final period, the Perps tried to pull away early in the game taking a 54-49 lead, but the Knights were able to trim the lead down to just one 54-53. Going to the final minute of the game the Knights ran out of gas as the Perps pulled away 61-55.
Bright Akhuetie had 21 points and 16 rebounds, Gab Dagangon added 14 points and 7 rebounds, and Jeffrey Coronel scored 13 points and 5 rebounds, the Perpetual Help Altas moves up to 3-2 record.
Rey Nambatac led the Knights again with 19 points and 8 rebounds, while John Calvo added 12 points as Letran ended their 4 game winning streak to take their second loss.

The Mapua Cardinals bounces back after winning big against the San Sebastian Stags 88-75. Though it was a tight first quarter between the two squad that ended 20-all the second period was a different story.
The Stags started the second period hot as they take an early 6-0 run to take a 26-20 lead, but Mapua were able to tie the game again at 31-all after a three by Biteng in the 5:37 mark of the quarter. Entering the last 3 minutes of the first half, Mapua started to pull away taking a 48-36 lead.
The Stags kept on chasing Mapua in the second half even trimming the lead down to 53-48 early in the third, but Mapua were able to keep the lead up to end the third period 64-53.
In the fourth, Mapua even extended their lead up to 18, 83-65 with 5:17 left in the game. the Stags continued to trail behind though they were still fighting even putting up a buzzer beating three by Ian Valdez.
Five Cardinals scored double digits in this game led by Exi Biteng who had his best game this season top scoring the Cardinals with 19 points, 15 points came from the three point area, Darrell Menina, Andrew Estrella, and Joseph Eriobu contributed 15, 14, and 12 points respectively, while Allwell Oraeme provided 22 rebounds and 13 points.
Justine Mercado had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Stags, while Regille Ilagan had 17 points as San Sebastian goes down to 1-4, meanwhile Mapua moves up to 5-1

The San Beda Red Lions completed a comeback against the Arellano Chiefs 101-86 to stay undefeated in the tournament. Arellano took charge early in the game as they dominate the Red Lions 17-2 until the 3 minute mark were San Beda were able to score a couple of points to end the opening period down 10-19.
Going to the second period the Chiefs continues to dominate San Beda extending the lead by 22 at 36-14 with 6 minutes still in the first half, but even with the huge lead the Red Lions were able to get their rhythm back to slowly, but surely trim the lead of Arellano down 37-47 to end the second period.
San Beda sustained their aggressiveness in the second half as they went on to erase the lead of the Chiefs, at 2:10 mark of the quarter Radge Tongco puts up a three that finally gave the lead to San Beda 66-65, but that didn't last long as Lervin Flores answered back to retake the lead 67-66,
Arellano again extended the lead 72-68, but San Beda still were able to tie the game 72-all at the end of the third. In the final 10 minutes of the game, the Red Lions became unstoppable as they take the lead after a 5 point straight output of Davon Potts to give San Beda 81-75 lead.
The Arellano Chiefs looked like they already emptied their gas tank as they struggle to fight back the runs that San Beda is making. The Red Lions even ballooned their lead up by 14 points with less than a minute remaining.
Davon Potts led the roar for San Beda with 31 points, Donald Tangkoua provided defense at the paint having 14 rebounds and 28 points, while Radge Tongco added 12 points for the Red Lions as they stay undefeated after 6 games.
The bus driver Jiovani Jalalon led the Chiefs with 25 points, Kent Salado added 16 points, and Allen Enriquez had 12 points, Arellano goes down to 3-2.
