The University of Santo Tomas Highschool Tiger Cubs and the University of the East Junior Warriors kicks off the second round of elimination of the UAAP season 78 juniors basketball tournament at the Arena in San Juan City. Miguel Ratuiste and Inand Fornillos combined 41 points for the Tiger Cubs as they escape past through the Junior Warriors by a single point 95-94.

In the second game the Nazareth School of National University Bullpups outlasted the defending champions Ateneo Highschool Blue Eaglets 81-69 to keep their unblemished 8-0 record. John Lloyd Clemente and Justine Baltazar scored 21 and 15 points respectively to lead the Bullpups, meanwhile Gian Mamuyac and Samjosef Belangel scored 19 and 17 points as the Blue Eaglets drops to 5-3

The Adamson Baby Falcons held on to defeat the gritty UPIS Junior Maroons 66-61, Jayseon Celis, Jose Antiporda, and Ralf Chua combined 30 points for the Baby Falcons to strengthen their hold to the number four position, on the side John Allan Gregorio, Juan Gomez De Liano, and Joel Tupaz combined 31 points for the Junior Maroons as they stay at the 7th spot with a 1-7 record.

Aljun Melecio had another huge performance as he led the De La Salle Zobel again in beating the FEU FERN Baby Tamaraws 78-58, Melecio started the game on fire as he immediately scored a three pointer only a few ticks after the game began, though the Baby Tamaraws were able to keep the game close even tying the game 29-all before the first half ends, but the Junior Archers were able to keep their game consistent as the game of the Baby Tamaraws drops as they struggle to create plays.
Aljun Melecio scored a double-double 41 points and 10 rebounds for the Junior Archers as they take a 6-2 record, meanwhile Kenji Roman, JJ Sapinit and Jack Gloria combined 35 points for the Baby Tamaraws as they drop to #5 with a 4-4 record.
The next game day of the UAAP juniors basketball will be this coming January 16 still at the arena in San Juan City. 9am: Ateneo vs UP, 11am: UE vs FEU, 1pm DLSZ vs UST, 3pm Adamson vs NU.
