Samsung says that their future relies on 5G and Foldables, that's why after the roller coaster run of their first generation foldable smartphone here comes the second generation, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.
You might ask why there's a "Z" now on the phone, well Samsung's foldable line is tagged with the Z.
Now let's get to know the newest foldable smartphone in the market.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2
Comparing to the first generation Fold, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with a lot of improvements and changes when it comes to hardware.
From the 7.3 inch AMOLED screen, the Z Fold 2 now comes with a 7.6 inch foldable dynamic AMOLED touch screen that features a thinner glass that is thinner than the strands of your hair that prevents it from breaking easily (remember the plastic protection issue of the first fold that when removed the screen gets cracked, that's what they are trying to address with this.)
Aside from a bigger screen, the fold 2 features a high resolution 1768x2208 and it supports a 120Hz screen refresh rate. Meanwhile the second screen is also revamped from a 4.6 inches it is now at 6.23 inch super AMOLED panel.
Unlike the Note 20 siblings that uses Exynos, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is packed with a Snapdragon 865+ processor, though the fixed internal storage is 256GB unlike the 512GB on the first old, a 12GB RAM is also paired with those memories, but sadly there's no expansion slot for a microSD.
In the camera department, from the 6 cameras in the first fold the Z Fold 2 features only 5 cameras. The rear cameras features a 12 megapixel Wide camera, 12 megapixel Telephoto camera, and another 12 megapixel Ultrawide camera.
To achieve the 7.6 inches screen the Z Fold 2 drops the camera notch and went for a single 10 megapixel punch hole camera and also there's another 10 megapixel punch hole camera in the 6.23 inch front display.
When it comes to battery, the Z Fold 2 improved a little coming from 4235mAh on the first it is now at 4500mAh and it now comes with a Mystic Bronze and a Mystic Black color.
No price yet that was announced, but more information regarding the fold will be announced on the 1st of September.
