Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino

The Film Development Council of the Philippines or FDCP led by Liza Dino-Seguerra comes up with another brainchild project that aims to promote more local films in cinemas aside from the Metro Manila Film Festival and other Independent film festival, dubbed as the "Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino".

Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino is a nationwide week-long film festival where all movie theaters will exclusively screen Filipino films in line with the Buwan ng Wika which is August. The Film Development Council of the Philippines partnered with different theater owners nationwide to give the 12 films to be screened from August 16-22, 2017.

Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino aims to provide a platform where Filipino films can connect to the wider Filipino audience through its nationwide release. As an audience-oriented event and a nationwide festivity, Pista will offer a variety of film genres to the Filipino audience and hopes to create a venue for them to let the industry know what films move and appeal to them, thereby creating a dialogue between film stakeholders. In addition to the nationwide screening, there will be caravans, audience surveys and forums to maximize the participation of stakeholders, from the theaters, to government agencies and local government units, to the producers and filmmakers, and most especially the Filipino audience.
