In the second match, last year's runners up Arellano University Chiefs survived the pesky undermanned Mapua University Cardinals 91-82.

The Chiefs weren't able to kick off the game on a high note trailing behind 19-23 in the opening quarter, but they were able to bounce back in the second half as they were able to take control of the game despite the efforts of the Cardinals to chase the lead down in the third period, but going into the final quarter the lack of players on the roster of Mapua slowed them as Arellano was able to pull away in the final minute of the game.

Kent Salado led the Chiefs with 24 points, while Michael Canete added 17 points and 12 rebounds in this game. On the side of the Cardinals, Laurenz Victori had 23 points and Andrew Estrella added 19 points. Mapua only fielded 8 players in this game.
