The Legacy before 1986

This Pinoy Monkey Pride user in youtube really moved me, we share the same thought about the 1986 people power revolution and the two decades before that and the two decades after that.

In 1965 Ferdinand Edralin Marcos won as the 10th president of the Republic of the Philippines. In his first 6yrs in office as the President of the Republic he made the Philippines one of the top countries not only in asia but also worldwide. In 1976 Marcos assigned his wife Imelda Romualdez Marcos as the Governor of the Metropolitan Manila as the Governor of Manila, Mrs Marcos prioritized the beautification and improvement on infrastructures in the Metro, Especially in Quezon City where the government offices were located.

Under Mrs Marcos management she prioritized the following projects

She prioritized to establish these following institutions in the Medical and Health field

Philippine General Hospital,    
Philippine Heart Center
Lung Center of the Philippines
Kidney Institute of the Philippines  or the now Philippine Kidney Institute
Philippine Children's Hospital
Ospital ng Bagong Lipunan or the now East Avenue Medical Center.

She also prioritized Social Welfare and Development Institutions such as

Home for the Aged or the Golden Acres
Nayon ng Kabataan
Molave Village for the Delinquent boys or the Boystown in Marikina city

On the Performing Arts and Cultural Centers she established the following

Cultural Center of the Philippines
Philippine International Convention Center
Film Center of the Philippines
Folks Art Theatre
Coconut Palace

On the Transportation Mrs Marcos started the construction of the Light Rail Transit that runs from Caloocan to Pasay.

On the term of Pres. Marcos he Rebuild the Philippines as he called it as The Bagong Lipunan. On Marcos Regime the Philippines is a Rice Producing country. He also projected the Love Bus for the conservation Gas at that time was increasing due to conflicts on Middle East.
