happy 113th Independence day PHILIPPINES!!!

On June 12 1898 in Kawit, Cavite. Under the  Revolutionary Government Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed the Act of the Declaration of Indepence. After Spainiards lost to the Americans in the Battle of Manila Bay.

The United States and Spain didn't recognized the declaration of Independence. After the Spanish Monarchy weakened because of the revolutions and other nation began to colonized too, they decided to enter a treaty between them and the US. this is the treaty of Paris.

One of the condition of the Treaty of Paris is that the Spanish Government will surrender the archipelago of the Philippines to the US if they will pay the amount of 20 million dollars.

After a Few months the Spaniards Left the Philippines and the US government took over the Philippines in 1899. The US government acknowledged the independence of the Philippines as July 4.

Independence Day was celebrated July 4 til the year 1964. On August 4,1964 When then President Diosdado Macapagal signed the RA 4166 An act changing the independence day date from July 4 to June 12 and assigning the date of July 4 as the Filipino-American Friendship Day.

In June 12 1998 The Philippines celebrated its centenial celebration of its Independence and because of that The Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas released a special Bank Note worth Two thousand Pesos. The Bill features the Inauguration of the centenial president, the 13th president of the Republic, President Joseph Ejercito Estrada.
