___________________________
The movie follows the story of Bert (Enchong Dee) as he narrates to a kid his love story with his first love which is Elise (Janine Gutierrez) from the day they met up to the day they became official and tried to build a family of their own.
Elise is just a simple narrative about how first love became a beautiful hurt, but what made it special is the simplicity of the narration with the use of flashback made the story continuously flowing, making it very engaging and sympathetic to the audience.
I wouldn't say Enchong Dee was different in this movie, but I will tell you that Enchong in this movie he is endearing. I could say so far this is his best performance, subtle, sweet, sexy maybe, the character was delivered in the best way it can be and kudos to Enchong for delivering the goods.
This is the first time I saw Janine Gutierrez on the big screen and yes she owned the character, that boy-ish character, that beautiful face, and that sweet aura, who wouldn't want to meet their own Elise.
This Kapamilya-Kapuso team up got the perfect chemistry, with either Enchong and Janine or with Enchong and Laura Lehmann, who by the way really surprised me since I've known Laura as that sweet and queenly hosts and her doing those scenes with Enchong did really stunned me.
Overall ELISE is a beautifully crafted masterpiece, the story was good it was a mixture of romance, comedy, and drama that was perfectly fused together producing this magnificent story deserving of the A grade by the Cinema Evaluation Board.
