After going viral few weeks ago, the "Boyet Challenge" that was started by some netizens already draw flacks of negative feedback and criticism as the challenge is already taking offense on those people with intellectual disabilities.
The challenge was inspired by the lead star of GMA 7's hit afternoon series "My Special Tatay" played by Ken Chan, who has an intellectual disability. The show became viral on the internet as the character showcases the positive side of the character despite his condition, many clips with Boyet and Aubrey played by Rita Daniela has already went viral before the "Boyet Challenge" surfaced.
GMA Entertainment Group has released their official statement regarding the "Boyet Challenge" and appealed to netizens to stop doing, creating, and sharing videos that mocks people with intellectual disabilities, read their statement below.
