They say achieving a back to back feat in the Miss Universe is realy difficult, but they didn't say it is impossible. Miss Venezuela's Stefania Fernandez(2009) and Dayana Mendoza(2008) were the only ones who achieved a back to back in the Miss U pageant. And that's what Maxine Medina aims to replicate this year, but the pressure of having a back to back crown doubles as the 65th Miss Universe pageant is going to be in the Philippines this January 30, at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.
Born May 9, 1990 the 26 year old Maria Mika Maxine Medina or more popularly known as Maxine Medina is already a professional model before joining Binibining Pilipinas, standing 5 ft 8 inches and a slender body with a measurement of 33-24-34, Max was really a standout in Binibini.
Modeling is a not a surprise for Maxine as her parents Maximo and Maria Fe Medina were former models as well and I guess it runs in the blood as her brothers Mathew and Marx and younger sister Ferica were good looking as well.
Aside from being a professional model for print and TV, Maxine is also a Freelance Interior Designer, she got her degree from College of Saint Benilde and Philippine School of Interior Design. She worked as an interior designer for a condominium before.
Maxine first tried her luck on Binibini back in 2012, she was part of the Dazzling Dozen of Aces & Queens back then and was already an early favorite, but she was disqualified because she still had a contract with a brand that halted her first try in Binibini.
Trying her luck again after 4 years Maxine wasn't really the fan favorite to win the Miss Universe-Philippines title, though she was clearly a favorite in the pageant many wasn't that too welcoming of the fact that she won the MUP crown coz they believed that other candidates deserve it more.
I guess what Maxine and Pia has in common is that they were good candidates, but many people don't appreciate them that much, but well like Pia, Maxine also improved alot in her quest for a back to back Maxine improved so much when it comes to her body, her looks, and specially in her personality and in her communications skills.
A few days left before the Miss Universe Pageant begins, all that Maxine wants is support and prayers from us her fellow kababayans. And I guess Maxine is well prepared for this war and she is in it to win the back to back title for the Philippines.
