The College of Saint Benilde Blazers prevail over the Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates, 70-61 on their first game yesterday at the Arena in San Juan.
Former Rookie of the Year Carlo Lastimosa scored 14 points to led the Blazers in winning the match despite having too much turnovers in the 3rd quarter that gave the lead to the Pirates 51-57, Thanks to a better rebounding from the blazers they made a 14-0 run early in the fourth quarter making it a 65-57 in favor of CSB. Paulo Taha and Luis Sinco combined 21 points for the Blazers, meanwhile Chris Cayabyab and Shane Ko led the Pirates in losing efforts with the two producing 13 and 11 points each.
On the second game The Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals survive the late run of the Arellano University Chiefs 75-72,
Russel Yaya and Noube Happi led the Generals in winning after they produced 17 and 14 points each, while Levi Hernandez, Rocky Acidre and Julius Cadavis produced 14 and 13 points each for the Chiefs.
