Arts Theater Manila presents on their opening season, one of Asian literatures prized piece änd the best sanskrit drama of all time "Sakuntala" by Kalidasa with added touch of Filipino culture in it, the play stars Cedric Juan, Matel Patayon, Vince Oajara, Chase Salazar, it is adapted by Allan Palileo, and it is directed by Joey Ting,

Entitled as Sakuntala: Ang Singsing Ng Kapalaran, the story revolves in the post apocalyptic 2080 after the mankind almost suffers from extinction due to nuclear war and global plague, groups of ethnic tribes were able to survive the apocalypse in the Philippines.

Sakuntala, believed to be the daughter of an unknown deity, blongs to a group where spirituality is at the center of their beliefs while Dusyanta, head of the other classified circle, belongs to another tribe where the urbanized influences are their trademark.

In a mystical island gravitated with caves and stones while waters on beaches have been affected by the chemical substances, Dusyanta. while hunting for food, saw Sakuntala, he then fell in love with the latter and the love plots begin. Love is tested, Love is twisted, love is supressed, and love is left behind and forgotten.

Sakuntala: Ang Singsing Ng Kapalaran will start on the 27th of September to October 21st every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 3pm/8pm at the Studio 72 Black Box Theater, Kalayaan Avenue, Brgy Teachers Village West, Diliman, Quezon City.
