DOTGA's Forever Loving In Tandem: Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber

These days there are so many love teams in showbiz, there are love teams who went from reel to real, there are love teams who still reigned supreme for many years and still hasn't lost the flame, there are love teams who didn't end up that well, and there are pairs who ended up being paired with another artist. But there's this love team who managed to draw a huge number of following for a short period of time and well, I can say that their fan base is currently the most active fandom on social media, and that fan group belongs to Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber, they aren't the biggest yet but the numbers are continuously growing and growing, making them undeniably one of the biggest love team/pair in showbizness today.

Having their first movie together in Loving In Tandem last year and a series of concert and shows just recently, and lots of endorsement deals from different brand these pair's probably the fastest rising team up today.

They always ask what's with Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber that attracts many people, having more than a more than 1 million followers each on instagram again in less than two years. If I were to answer that question I can probably say that these two got irresistible charm and them being natural without any pretensions or any sugar coated gimiks just to please the fans. Another thing that makes them lovable to work with and to idolize is their professionalism and good attitude, based from experience they are always game when it comes to interviews, picture taking, they always have those genuine smiles to show, and polite answers to every question no matter how difficult or nasty it is.

This April 18. the Loving In Tandem of Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber is coming back to the big screen after they joined Kim Chiu's Horror-Comedy Movie "DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away" directed by Tony Y. Reyes.

Being part of DOTGA, Maymay has expressed so much gratitude to their management for giving them another movie, they aren't just so happy about it, they even felt so blessed as well for the opportunity given to them.

Doing comedy isn't new specially for Maymay who is a natural comedienne, but coming to the set of DOTGA feels like they entered a different class of comedy as they join the ranks of seasoned comedians like Chokoleit, Lassy, Pepe Herrera, Ryan Bang, and Kim Chiu as well.

For Maymay and Edward the most difficult part of doing the type of comedy in DOTGA is how they will respond to the ad lib's, how will they respond to jokes that weren't included in the script and how will they react to unrehearsed sequences to make every joke and punchlines natural as possible.

"Dapat po talaga maging open ka, suportahan nyo ang isa't isa" Maymay said, Edward added "Dapat alam mo yung tungkol sa relationship ng ibang characters".

Edward, a newbie when it comes to mainstream comedy, his persona isn't the funny type of guy and he admitted that during the shoot, he adjusted himself and his Co star adjusted as well for him to fit in the movie "Out of the whole cast ako lang yung hindi po sanay sa comedy" Edward said.

Adjusting wasn't that difficult for Edward as he slowly gets his groove with the help of his co stars and specially Maymay, "Parang ginaya ko sila, not in terms of actions, but in terms of their mindset" Edward explained.

Working with their co PBB alumna, Maymay shares "Kung baliw po kami, mas baliw po sya".

Working for the first time with Kim made them see the other side of the Chinita Princess far from what they know as a serious dramatic actress based from her past teleseryes.

"Madami syang binigay na tips sa amin na dapat open lang kami lalo na sa mga ad lib-an" Maymay said.

The two were just included in the movie in the latter part of the production, but still they really enjoyed working on the set they both agreed that they felt "bitin" after they shot the movie as they felt they wanted to do more because they learned a lot after making this movie.

Edward admits that doing his other projects before, he sometimes felt relieved and happy every time the shoot gets packed up or delayed because he has more time to rest, but in DOTGA he shared that he really did enjoy shooting for the movie to the point that he doesn't want any delays to come their way. "Sa last day ng DOTGA umuulan nainis ako 'bakit umuulan gusto ko ng tapusin, sometimes you really want to do it well para maganda yung final product" Edward explained.

"Bitin" Maymay exclaims after she was asked how was it doing DOTGA "Sabi nga nila mabilis yung panahon, pinaka masaya para sa akin mapa-on cam or off cam" she added.
