The five time champions San Beda Red Lions manages to keep their winning streak in the 91st season of NCAA after defeating the JRU Heavy Bomber 88-69.
San Beda controlled the whole first half of the game as players of JRU like Paolo Pontejos struggles to make a basket in the first half though they were able to get close to the Red Lions, the Heavy Bombers fell behind 6 points at the end of the second quarter.
In the second half JRU were able to get close to San Beda 54-58 at the end of the 3rd via a three point shot and an easy basket by Paolo Pontejos, opening the last quarter Jordan Dela Paz was able to trim down the lead to a single possession ball game at 56-58 but Art Dela Cruz and the other Red Lions were able to make an 8-16 run with 3:39 left in the game.
Art Dela Cruz again carried the Red Lions in this win giving a 29 point performance, adding to it is Dan Sara and Ola Adeogun who scored 17 and 16 points respectively. Teytey Teodoro and Jordan Dela Paz combine 31 points for the Heavy Bombers in losing efforts.

In the second game the Earl Thompson's Perpetual Help Altas prevails over Jovanie Jalalon's Arellano University Chiefs 76-66 iin their much anticipated match up last Thursday.
It was Arellano who started strong in the game leading the Perps 36-32 at the end of the half, but the Perps suddenly burst into scoring in the third quarter taking over the lead at 54-52, the chiefs suddenly ran out of gas specially in the fourth quarter where the Altas pulled away and take the victory.
Bright Akhuetie lead the Perps with 31 points while Earl Thompson scored 11 points, 7 assists, and 16 rebounds, Jovanie Jalalon on the other side led the Chiefs with 14 points 3 assists and 5 rebounds.
