After almost a week of hiatus due to inclement weather condition, the NCAA returns to action yesterday with the Arellano Chiefs defeating the EAC Generals 92-80 to get their 2nd win in the tournament.
It was a close game in the end with EAC getting close to Arellano in the last 5 minutes of the regulation but Jiovani Jalalon after a so-so performance in their first two games finally break the ice in his performance posting a triple double stats of 12 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds to help the Chiefs pull away and beat the Generals.
Aside from Jalalon, Zach Nichols top scored the Chiefs with 18 points, while on the side of the Generals it's Sidney Onwubere scored 26 points.
Arellano Chiefs is now at 2-1 record, while EAC dropped their 3rd straight assignment and remained winless.

In the second game, the San Sebastian Stags were able to stage an upset in an overtime win over the JRU Heavy Bombers 91-89, Ryan Costelo helped the Stags in the 4th quarter and in the overtime producing all of his 15 points in that period for San Sebastian to lead, Jordan Dela Paz gave JRU a chance after a run that close in the Heavy Bombers a 90-89 with 11 seconds left, but Jamil Ortuouste's free throw sealed the deal for the Stags at 91-89 giving JRU their 2nd straight defeat.
Former Staglets Michael Calisaan leads the way for the Stags with 22 points, Bradwyn Guinto added a solid double-double performance of 17 points and 20 rebounds. On the other side Tey Teodoro and Paolo Pontejos scored 15 and 14 points respectively for the Heavy Bombers in losing efforts.
San Sebastian goes 1-1, while JRU drops to 1-2 win-loss record.
