Is The Diamond Nexus Crown Back On Miss Universe?

The crown of the Miss Universe is the most coveted pageant crown not only because of the prestige that it has, but also the amount of the crown that costs thousands of dollars. In the last three editions of the Miss Universe pageant we've seen the New York skyline inspired crown from the Prague, Czech Republic based company Diamond International Corporation or DIC that worth a whooping $300,000. 

But a few months before the 66th Miss Universe that was held here in the Philippines, According to a report from Reuters, WME/IMG already canceled the DIC contract last August 2016 after the former was fazed by financial problems that caused them to miss two required payments.. 

Just a few days ago IMG sued DIC after it continues to advertise its ties with Miss Universe even though they already breached their 10 year contract with them. The trademark infringement lawsuit seeks for a $2..04 million worth of payments and unspecified damages for breaching the contract that was supposed to run from 2015-2025. 

This is also one of the reason why Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was able to wear the Mikimoto Pearl Crown during her last official photoshoot as Miss Universe, and also many were surprised as current Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere was seen wearing a Diamond Nexus Crown during the coronation of Puteri Indonesia and we haven't yet seen her wearing the DIC Crown anymore. 

In an earlier Instagram post today, reigning Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere posted a photo of the Diamond Nexus Crown with a caption "Sun and Crown in New York", The last time we've seen Iris wearing the DIC Crown was back March when she had a homecoming in France, after that all of her official photo shoots were mostly with the DNC. Will this mean that the Diamond Nexus Crown will be back on Miss Universe? or will there be a new crown?

The Diamon Nexus Crown was the crown from 2008 to 2013, Gabriela Isler was the last to wear that crown. Meanwhile, Paulina Vega was the first to wear the DIC Crown followed by Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
