UAAP Season 74 : United We Stand

The University Athletics Association of the Philippines 74th season will open its door again to the young athletes of different Universities in the Metro, This season UAAP will be hosted by the Ateneo De Manila University the opening will be on July 9 2011 and for the first time the Opening ceremonies will not be held in the Araneta Coliseum, The Opening ceremony instead will be held on the Marikina Sports Complex, It will be a Olympic kind of ceremony with the Torch relay, There will be No Games that day unlike the previous years that every after the opening ceremony the First 2 games will be held,


The First 2 games will be held the day after which is July 10 2011 there lots of changes when it comes to the scheduling this season, The games are earlier now than before,

The first 2 games are:

@1pm Far Eastern University Tamaraws vs De La Salle University Green Archer

DLSU has a strong line up of rookies with 6 foot 9 inches Tall Arnold Van Opstal, former SBC Red Cub Alfonso Gotladera, and with the returning LA Revilla plus the veteran Simon Atkins, Sam Marata, Jed Manguera, and Joshua Webb, The Archers are looking for another Final 4 appearance or could be a Championship title.

FEU though they failed to snatch the Title last season, the Tamaraws will surely still be the strongest contender  for the Season 74 title, though they lost key players like Pipo Noundou, Paul Sanga, and center Reil Cervantes, FEU still has strong rookies from the FEU-FERN like Cris Tolomia, Russel Escoto, and the Team captain of FEU-FERN AA Fabian, with the Young veterans RR Garcia and Terrence Romeo,  plus the ex Smart Gilas members JayR Cawaling and Aldrech Ramos and the 6'11"import Christian Sentcheu. FEU is still a Team to Beat.


@3pm Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles vs  Adamson University Falcons

Ateneo Banners their Strongest line up with rookies 6'11 Greg Slaughter and Kieffer Ravena, plus Nico Salva, Emma Monfort, Kirk Long  and Gwyne Capacio, Ateneo could get their 4th straight championship.

Adamson on the other hand is another promising squad to battle for the final four spot, With a great performance they show on the pre season cup, with a veteran line up including Lester Alvarez, Jerrick Canada, Alex Nuyles, Jeff Olalia, Jan Colina, Eric Camson and Mike Agustin plus Austin Manyara, The expectations are high on this team, I hope they can pull through.

Let us look back on Angel Locsin's FHM record, Angel locsin first entered the list on 2003 she ranked 10th over all, Angel also first covered for FHM, October that year.

In 2005 Angel Locsin Breaks in to the Limelight being the prized possession of the  Kapuso network she captured the Top Spot that year being the first pinay to rank no.1 in the History of FHM Philippines, She became the cover girl of FHM twice that year one in March and the other was October, Also in 2005 Angel is the only covergirl to be printed on super size FHM magazine.

In 2006 and 2007 she ranked 3rd, in 2008 and 2009 she ranked 4th. and after 5 years Angel Locsin made an FHM history being the first to Women to get back the FHM Sexiest women throne where she garnered almost Three hundred thousand votes.  This year she falls back to the 3rd place again.

For the record Angel Locsin is the Longest staying women in the Top 10 of FHM, For 9 years she stayed in the top 10, and She is also the Longest staying women on the top 5 of FHM 100 sexiest for 6 years she is consistent in the top 4.

The latest issue of Newsweek Brought back to life the well loved Princess of  England, Princess Diana, As we know Lady Diana Died in a Car Accident 14 years ago. As a tribute to her 50th birthday last July 1, Newsweek brought a Picture of the princess if she is still living today, together with her Daughter in law the Kate Middleton. The issue features the What if's if Diana is still Alive today, How will she look on her eldest son's wedding.

The issue also creates controversies as it is released during the visit of the Royal Couple Kate and Prince William in the North America. And some are saying that Lady Diana looks creepy on the picture.

NCAA Opening Day Game Result

San Beda Red Lions routs the host school University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Altas. 82-52.

The Defending Champions San Beda College easily disposed the UPHSD, Rome Dela Rosa led the Red Lions scoring run with 15 pts even without its Superman Sudan Daniel due to Injuries The Red Lions shows why they were the Champions last season, The Altas scored very low in the whole game ending the 1st quarter with only 8pts, Harold Arboleda and Chris Elopre Led the Altas in scoring.

On the Second Game San Sebastian College Golden Stags escape past the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers 73-67. The Golden Stags were Led by Ian Sangalang with 25pts and Ronald Pascual with 20pts  in winning against the heavy bomber.

The Heavy Bombers  on the other were led by the Rookie Ronnel Carampil with 19pts and John Lopez with 15pts Though they lost JRU Rookie Carampil shows he is the Future of JRU in Basketball.
