UAAP Season 74 : United We Stand

The University Athletics Association of the Philippines 74th season will open its door again to the young athletes of different Universities in the Metro, This season UAAP will be hosted by the Ateneo De Manila University the opening will be on July 9 2011 and for the first time the Opening ceremonies will not be held in the Araneta Coliseum, The Opening ceremony instead will be held on the Marikina Sports Complex, It will be a Olympic kind of ceremony with the Torch relay, There will be No Games that day unlike the previous years that every after the opening ceremony the First 2 games will be held,


The First 2 games will be held the day after which is July 10 2011 there lots of changes when it comes to the scheduling this season, The games are earlier now than before,

The first 2 games are:

@1pm Far Eastern University Tamaraws vs De La Salle University Green Archer

DLSU has a strong line up of rookies with 6 foot 9 inches Tall Arnold Van Opstal, former SBC Red Cub Alfonso Gotladera, and with the returning LA Revilla plus the veteran Simon Atkins, Sam Marata, Jed Manguera, and Joshua Webb, The Archers are looking for another Final 4 appearance or could be a Championship title.

FEU though they failed to snatch the Title last season, the Tamaraws will surely still be the strongest contender  for the Season 74 title, though they lost key players like Pipo Noundou, Paul Sanga, and center Reil Cervantes, FEU still has strong rookies from the FEU-FERN like Cris Tolomia, Russel Escoto, and the Team captain of FEU-FERN AA Fabian, with the Young veterans RR Garcia and Terrence Romeo,  plus the ex Smart Gilas members JayR Cawaling and Aldrech Ramos and the 6'11"import Christian Sentcheu. FEU is still a Team to Beat.


@3pm Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles vs  Adamson University Falcons

Ateneo Banners their Strongest line up with rookies 6'11 Greg Slaughter and Kieffer Ravena, plus Nico Salva, Emma Monfort, Kirk Long  and Gwyne Capacio, Ateneo could get their 4th straight championship.

Adamson on the other hand is another promising squad to battle for the final four spot, With a great performance they show on the pre season cup, with a veteran line up including Lester Alvarez, Jerrick Canada, Alex Nuyles, Jeff Olalia, Jan Colina, Eric Camson and Mike Agustin plus Austin Manyara, The expectations are high on this team, I hope they can pull through.
