Chelsea Manalo's Hiraya won the Best National Costume at the 73rd Miss Universe

The Miss Universe Organization has announced earlier today that Miss Philippines' Chelsea Manalo's Hiraya by Manny Halasan won the Best National Costume in the recently concluded 73rd Miss Universe pageant held in Mexico City last November 17.

Hiraya by Manny Halasan depicts the Christianization and Islam in the Philippines and also the connection of Manila-Acapulco trade route via the Galleon Trade.

It's a back-to-back win for the Philippines in National Costume competition with Michelle Dee also winning last year with her Love the Philippines Airplane costume that promotes PH's tourism.
