Xyrus Torres towed the FEU Tamaraws past the NU Bulldogs after he nailed the game winning three to give them the 59-57 to keep their team in contention for the Final Four race.
The game went tight in the opening period with the Bulldogs taking a slight 15-14 advantage, but going to the second period they were able to push their advantage as high as 14 points to keep the Tams at 33-22 at the end of the first half.
Things started to turn in the second half as the Tamaraws were able to cut the lead down to 49-40 after a buzzer beater by rookie Patrick Sleat.
Energized, the Tamaraws continues to erase the lead of NU and take a 1 point advantage late in the second half. The Bulldogs were able to take the lead back at 57-56 lead with less than a minute left, but it was Xyrus Torres who sealed the victory for FEU with an almost buzzer beating three.
FEU ties NU at 4th spot with both team having 4-6 record.
With 16 points, Xyrus Torres led the Tamaraws in scoring, Emmanuel Ojuola added 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Ximone Sandagon had an impressive 10 point outing.
John Lloyd Clemente led the Bulldogs with 13 points
