The Miss Universe 2011 had just wrapped up and for the first time Miss Philippines Made a Back to Back Appearance in the top 5, Last year Venus Raj made an exceptional performance last year bagging the 4th runner up position and so as the great performance of Shamcey Supsup bagging the 3rd runner up position. Take note Shamcey is the only candidate in the top 5 who doesn't have an interpreter but still Miss Angola Leila Lopes won the Miss Universe 2011.
