#NCAA91 Day 19: Letran Gets Win Number 8, Arellano Ties At Number 4
The Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights ends the first round with an 8-1 record after defeating the Mapua Institute of Technology in a very tight match that ends at 80-77.
It was a dominant first half by the Knights finishing the 2nd quarter with a 53-38 lead over the Cardinals, but Mapua made a huge 21-7 run in the third period to close in at 60-59, and even grab the lead in the middle of the fourth period with a 70-65, but Rey Nambatac scored 11 points in that last five minutes grabbing back the lead to Letran.
Nambatac led the Knights with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals adding to that is Mark Cruz's 16 points and 6 assists, meanwhil on the other side Allwell Oraeme's 23 points, 28 rebounds, and 4 blocks were only supported by Exiquiel Biteng and Stephen Que's 15 and 13 points resppectively.
Letran stays on top of the standings with an 8-1 record, while Mapua goes down to solo number 6 with a 4-5 record still missing the service of CJ Isit and Josan Nimes.

The Chiefs dominated the Blazers early in the game finishing the first three quarters with double digit lead, Zach Nichols spearheaded the scoring for the Chiefs with 19 points while Jiovani Jalalon added 13 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds.
Even with Jonathan Grey's 24 point performance the Blazers still fall down to 2-7 record to end the first round of elimination, while the Chiefs goes up to 5-3 heading to their rematch with San Beda on the 18th iof August.

On The Wings Of Love Takes Off
The pilot episode of 2015’s most romantic teleserye “On the Wings of Love” easily won national TV ratings last Monday (August 10), setting the stage for another riveting viewing experience on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
According to data from Kantar Media, the first episode of James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s first teleserye debuted strongly with a national TV rating of 22.1%, which is 9 percentage points higher than the pilot episode of its rival program in GMA “My Faithful Husband” (12.7%).
JaDine's first ever primetime teleserye also won in different parts of the country including the urban areas where it hit a TV rating of 23.4% vs. GMA’s series’ 15.3%, and in rural areas with 20.4% vs. 9.2%. “On the Wings of Love’s” premiere was also a success in Mega Manila with 22.5% vs. its rival program’s 19.6%, and in Metro Manila with 24.4% vs. 15%.
Aside from ratings, “On the Wings of Love” also conquered social networking sites including Twitter, where the program’s official hashtag #OTWOLArrival became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter with more than 1 million tweets with the hashtag. Several netizens on twitter and also on facebook gave their different, but positive comments about the teleserye.
Meanwhile, more viewers will be immersing themselves more into James and Nadine’s love story as fate pulls Clark (James) and Leah (Nadine) together in San Francisco. How will Clark and Leah’s lives in America change when they make a special agreement that will solve their problems?

#TasteBuddies: 49B Heirloom Kitchen.
For the first time I'll be having a restaurant feature here in my blog, thanks to our friends from GMA News TV's Taste Buddies hosted by Solenn Heussaff and Iya Villania.
So our featured resto is the 49-B Heirloom Kitchen located at Sct Tobias cor. Sct Fuentebella near Timog, it is between All Day Breakfast and Yvan Navy. The restaurant is a built in a former apartment turned business establishment, the first floor has a small waiting area outside, located inside is the counter, and few tables to accommodate customers who doesn't want to go up. In the second floor a much wider and bigger dining place is located, it can Accommodate upto 30 persons.
The look of the resto is a bit asian-arabian inspired specially with the design of the walls, though I find the place too enclosed since it is in the middle of two other restaurants plus the frosted glass front windows which is the only source of sunlight the place didn't look too dark instead it added more exclusivity to the place it made it more of a fine dining restaurant perfect for date, family luncheon, dinner, or simple merienda.
Let's now go to the food that they serve, their food is mixed there's no particular type of food, for
example the food they served us are Paella Valencia, Beef Lengua, Tamarind Chicken and Cheesy Squash Flower.
My favorite here is the Paella Valencia, the one served to us is the Family sized priced at Php 550, it is already good for 5 to 7 persons it contains well aside from the rice are pork, chicken, mussels, and shrimps. what I like about it is that its very delicious and tasty plus the way it was served in a pan where I think it was cooked.
The Tamarind Chicken tastes weird at first since it is roasted, it tasted like Sinampalukang Manok but a roasted one, the gravy served with the chicken is sour, the owner said it was made out of the Chicken stock with sampaloc plus spices.
Solenn told us that her favorite was the Sinigang na Lechon, and yes the Sinigang was really good though it tasted weird since the combination of Lechon plus Sinigang was way too weird but well it tasted still like a Lechon swimming in the Sinigang.
With the deserts they made us taste two, the Ginger Banana Brulee which is served hot and Iya's favorite the Mary Ann's Chocolate Chip Cookies that tastes really good, the owner said that the Cookies were made by her youngest daughter who's only I think 16 or 18 years old the cookie tasted like a Golden Oreo that is Chewy and Delicious.
All in all 49-B Heirloom Kitchen is a must try specially if you want to have some intimate bonding with your love ones, the place is really perfect for a simple date with your girlfriend/boyfriend, or celebrating your birthday or just having a simple but special dinner.

The Lyceum of the Philippines Pirates finally ended their four game losing skid after defeating the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals 69-55. '
Lyceum held on from their strong start in the game edging out EAC at the end of the first half at 40-25, the Generals tried to get near in the second half trimming down the lead to 49-41 at the end of the third period but the Pirates held off the run by EAC to secure the win for them.
Vic Nguidjol and Joseph Gabayni teamed up for the Pirates with a combined points of 23 points, meanwhile Francis Munsayac top scored the Generals with 15 points. Both squads ends the first round of elimination with a 2-7 win-loss record.

It was almost an upset for the Red Lions as the Golden Stags almost take the win away from them in the latter part of the 4th quarter, entering the final quarter with a 78-61 the guys from San Sebastian exploded a 16-0 run to close in at 78-77 but the Red Lions were able to keep a small cushion after Adeogun scored a basket making it 80-77, but it seems that San Sebastian really lacks the end game pressure as the game enters the last two minutes of regulation the eager Stags stops from scoring.
Ola Adeogun led San Beda with 28 points and 14 rebounds to secure a 7-1 win-loss record, meanwhile Ryan Costelo, and Michael Calisaan scored 18 and 17 points respectively for the Stags as they drop to 2-7 win-loss record to end thee first round. The Red Lions still has to battle the Arellano Chiefs on the 18th of August.

#NCAA91 Day 17: JRU Completes Comeback, Perpetual Help Wins Back To Back
The Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers completed a 17 point comeback against the Mapua Cardinals on their game last Thursday on 91st season of the NCAA.
It was a neck and neck race between Mapua and JRU in the first half not until Stephen Que and the rest of the Cardinals exploded 30 points in the third quarter leaving the Heavy Bombers behind 64-53, entering the fourth quarter Mapua blow up their lead to 84-66 with less than three minutes remaining, but JRU suddenly woke up from the slump and made a 17-7 run to trim down the lead of the Cardinals 86-81 with 31.7 seconds left in the game until the Heavy Bombers trimmed the lead by a single point at 87-86 with 9 seconds in the game.
Tey Teodoro became the game changer of the match as he led JRU with 32 points, adding to that is Jordan Dela Paz's 20 points and finally breaking the ice is Paolo Pontejos scoring 16 points. On the other side it seems that Allwell Oraeme's 25 points wasn't well enough for the Mapua to continue their winning streak.

In the second game the Perpetual Help Altas wins their second straight victory over the EAC Generals 68-55.
The Perps controlled the whole game against EAC who's still high from their huge victory over Letran, the closest the Generals were able to get against the Altas was at 12-12 in the end of the first quarter after that the Generals seems to have problem in chasing down the lead of the Altas even if the Perps lost Earl Thompson who sprained his ankle in the early part of the third quarter.
Prince Eze top scorred the Altas with 17 points, while Francis Munsayac scored 18 for the Generals.

Cherry Mobile awhile ago launched their second Android One phone. Tagged as the G1 the newest smartphone from Cherry Mobile supports the latest Android 5.1.1 and will continue to receive updates up to almost 2 years (It's like a cheaper version of the Nexus line).
Speaking of cheap, the G1 is priced at Php 5999 though it's more expensive compared to the Cherry Mobile One, the G1 comes with higher end specification like the 64-bit 1.2Ghz Snapdragon 410 Quadcore Processor, 2GB RAM, 5 inches IPS screen with Oncell Technology, and it s already 4G/LTE ready plus the 13 megapixel camera and 5 megapixel front facing one.

#NCAA91 Day 16: San Sebastian Gets Back On The Winning Track, EAC With A Huge Victory, Mapua Keeps Its Winning Streak
In the first game of the Friday triple header of the 91st season of the NCAA, the San Sebastian Stags bounces back with a win over the Lyceum Pirates 77-70.
Michael Calisaan scored his career high performance of 35 points and 16 rebounds in this game to help the San Sebastian Stags return to the winning mark. but before that Lyceum led San Sebastian at the end of the first quarter ending it at 20-26 until Calisaan started scoring spree with the help of Costelo and Ortuouste ending the first half 48-35,
Lyceum tried to bounce back in the fourth quarter closing in at 75-70 with less than two minutes remaining in the game but Ryan Costelo sealed win number 2 for the stags.
Shaq Alanes and Vic Nguidjol were no match to Calisaan as they were only able to produce 31 points combined for the Pirates

In the second game the EAC Generals stuns the Letran Knights by giving them their first loss after a big game by the generals finishing at 83-69.
The cellar dwellers of the league proved that they are deadly even if they are on the bottom of the standings, though Letran finished the first half with a 36-28 lead over the Generals, they still were able to pull off a surprise by outscoring the Knights in the fourth quarter to pull off an upset victory against the league leading Knights.
Hamadou Laminou powered the Generals with 20 points and 24 rebounds performance, adding to that is Joreme Morada and Sidney Onwubere's 18 points each performance, meanwhile Kevin Racal and Mark Cruz teamed up for the Knights scoring 18 and 16 points respectively.

It was a huge first three quarters for the Cardinals like their game against Lyceum, Mapua led the Blazers by as much as 22 points in the first quarter ending it at 29-7 it went up to 29 points at the end of the third quarter at 67-38 but I think the Cardinals still lacks the consistency in the end gameas they almost played a catch up game against the Blazers good thing they were able to survive the late run of Saint Benilde in the latter part of the game to earn their 4th victory to get in to a quadruple tie for the 4th spot.
Allwell Oraeme led the Cardinals with 19 points, while Rookie and former Baby Tamaraw JJ Domingo led the Blazers with 14 points.

In the second game the EAC Generals stuns the Letran Knights by giving them their first loss after a big game by the generals finishing at 83-69.
The cellar dwellers of the league proved that they are deadly even if they are on the bottom of the standings, though Letran finished the first half with a 36-28 lead over the Generals, they still were able to pull off a surprise by outscoring the Knights in the fourth quarter to pull off an upset victory against the league leading Knights.
Hamadou Laminou powered the Generals with 20 points and 24 rebounds performance, adding to that is Joreme Morada and Sidney Onwubere's 18 points each performance, meanwhile Kevin Racal and Mark Cruz teamed up for the Knights scoring 18 and 16 points respectively.

In the third game the Mapua Cardinals extends their winning streak to 3 games after defeating the CSB Blazers 76-64.

It was a huge first three quarters for the Cardinals like their game against Lyceum, Mapua led the Blazers by as much as 22 points in the first quarter ending it at 29-7 it went up to 29 points at the end of the third quarter at 67-38 but I think the Cardinals still lacks the consistency in the end gameas they almost played a catch up game against the Blazers good thing they were able to survive the late run of Saint Benilde in the latter part of the game to earn their 4th victory to get in to a quadruple tie for the 4th spot.
Allwell Oraeme led the Cardinals with 19 points, while Rookie and former Baby Tamaraw JJ Domingo led the Blazers with 14 points.
