Relive Memories from Childhood in “The Girl from Yesterday”

Who does not have an eventful childhood? Most of our memories from our youth are spent in school. Waking up early in the morning, meeting new people who becomes your schoolmates, teachers or your principal, playing games with friends inside and outside the classroom, pranking other students or watching them being pranked. Those naughty school memories does not only belong to Class 12A3 in The Girl from Yesterday but also a significant memory to all of us.

The Girl from Yesterday will bring us back to those memories as we experience the high school life of Thu. The film is based on the classic novel of the same name by author Nguyen Nhat Anh, a novel known by many generations of students in Vietnam. Even if you’re from the 80s or the 2000s, the book will still make you laugh with its witty lines or will make you feel nostalgic when you see yourself back at the age of 15.
Everyone will find a lot of relatable situations even if you went to school 20 or 30 or 40 years ago. We will still remember the classrooms being noisy, messy but fun and when the bell rings in time for recess, everyone goes with their own silly businesses. Students here and there, doing homework or chatting about what’s the latest trend or about their crushes.

The film will also remind us about our teachers, our mentors. The people who shaped us to be the best we can be, even if we get to be the most stubborn student they’ve had.
The school’s heartthrob, the class clown, the classmate who’s always late, who always sleeps, the teacher’s pet and most of all, that special person who inspires you to go to school every day.
The Girl from Yesterday promises to give the audience various emotions that will bring us back to our childhood memories.
“The Girl from Yesterday” opens in Philippine cinemas February 14, 2018 from CJ Entertainment and Yeah! CMG, locally distributed by Rafaella Films International.

KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde to serenade Cagayan De Oro fans at a post-Valentine concert

Vivo, a young and leading global smartphone brand established in 2009, develops dynamic and stylish smartphone products with innovative camera capabilities and high-quality audio for the brand’s confident and expressive consumers. Vivo, in the Philippines, is being endorsed by the biggest local celebrities. One of these hottest endorsers are Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan and acoustic balladeer TJ Monterde, both brilliant singers in their own right.

In support of KZ and TJ, Vivo will serve as the co-sponsors of the real-life couple’s upcoming post-Valentine concert at Cagayan De Oro.

To be held on February 17, Saturday, 7:00 pm at Limketkai Atrium, an activity center within the popular Limketkai Center, KZ and TJ will be joined by other talented artists like X Factor alumni Jeric Medina, Chandreena and Shameena Moorjani, and upcoming singer from the Visayan region Winset Jacot.

TJ and KZ are real-life lovers. Brough together by their passion for music, TJ and KZ have been a couple for three years now (and counting!) and first met through common friend veteran music icon Martin Nievera. They are best known for their song Ïkaw at Ako Pa Rin”, a “hugot”song about long distance relationship which defies hardships and conflicts. The song’s music video went viral.

KZ Tandingan, or Kristine Zhenie Tandingan in real life, rose to fame after she won the first season of X Factor Philippines in 2012. KZ had been singing in a local acoustic band in her native Davao City before joining the reality singing show. Just like most musicians, KZ started her affair with music at a young age. KZ became a Vivo local endorser during the brand’s launch of the V7+ in September 2017. So far, she had participated in Vivo’s mall shows last December at Ayala Centrio and Ayala Cloverleaf. KZ loves her Vivo V7+ because of the phone’s futuristic fingerprint unlock feature which ensures the phone’s stonewall security. As a celebrity with a handsome following on social media, KZ is also thrilled as Vivo V7+ takes the most gorgeous of selfies, thanks to Vivo V7+’s 24Mp front camera and Face Beauty feature which produces only the clearer portraits. With the V7+, KZ takes the best shots of all her sold-out events.

TJ Monterde traces his humble beginnings as a practically unknown singer on Youtube. The rising balladeer began dominating the mainstream music scene just recently and was even bagged the top spot at the Billboard Philippine top 20 with his four original tracks namely “Dating Tayo,” “Tulad Mo,” “Ikaw At Ako,” and “Ikaw At Ako Pa Rin,” which features longtime girlfriend, KZ Tandingan. TJ was a host for ABS-CBN’s regional show MagTV. The crooner from Cagayan De Oro flew to Manila to find his fortune, which with hard work, he eventually did find. TJ became a local Vivo endorser along with KZ during the brand’s V7+ launch September last year. One of the most engaged Vivo influencers, TJ has attended a multitude of Vivo’s mall tours from September to December of 2017 in various malls in and out of Manila. TJ couldn’t ask for more when it comes to his Vivo V7+. He is happy with the phone’s 5.99 all-screen Display with an 84.4% screen to body ratio, providing a more exciting and enhanced game and visual experience. As a musician, TJ enjoys the V7+'s the phone’s Hi-Fidelity audio chip which rocks above par mobile audio technology making music clearer and crisper to the ear. He also likes phone’s Face ID feature. Futuristic enough, Vivo offers this feature which is a surely-safe security access to one’s smartphone, where phone unlocks with mere facial recognition. The Face ID feature enables the V7+ to “wake up” with the user simply picking up the phone, raising it in portrait mode to unlock it and it is ready to go.

KZ and TJ are proud members of the Vivo Family and the brand, in return, is fortunate to have the two in their roster of huge influencers.

KZ and TJ’s post Valentine concert’s ticket prices are as follows: General Admission: P300.00; Silver: P600.00; Gold: P1,000; and VIP: P1,800.

Cine Lokal Highlights Pride and Love in ‘4 Days’

Will you stay inside a relationship that keeps you from being proud?

GMA Afternoon Prime presents two women at odds fighting for family and love via The Stepdaughters

Step into a world filled with beauty, jealousy, and love as GMA Network proudly unveils its newest Afternoon Prime drama series, The Stepdaughters, beginning February 12.

The Stepdaughters is a story of two women who are both beautiful and intelligent but with personalities that couldn’t be any more different. They have always been destined to be rivals and both of them aren’t ones to back away from a fight.

Headlining this drama are Miss World 2013 Megan Young and versatile Kapuso actress Katrina Halili, together with GMA’s prime leading man Mikael Daez

Megan Young is Mayumi Dela Rosa. Beautiful and intelligent, she graduated with a degree in Chemistry with flying colors. She also dreams of creating her own makeup product line someday.

Katrina Halili is Isabelle Salvador. She is an only child who grew up spoiled and self-centered. She also manages her family’s makeup line, Coco Bella.

Mikael Daez is Francis Almeda. He is handsome, smart, and works as a head product engineer. He meets Mayumi and falls in love with her, despite Isabelle’s incessant prodding for him to love her back.

In the series, Mayumi and Isabelle never really liked each other, even more so when Mayumi’s mother, Luisa, and Isabelle’s father, Hernan, fall for one another and get married, making them stepsisters.

But no secret ever stays a secret, especially ones that are rooted within families. When Isabelle finds out what Hernan has done, she will do all that it takes to keep everything they have, even if it means taking down Mayumi. But Mayumi will never let anyone hurt her or her loved ones. Now both Mayumi and Isabelle will fight for what is rightfully theirs—family, honor, and love.

Completing the cast are: Gary Estrada as Hernan Salvador, Isabelle’s doting and hardworking father who remained down-to-earth even after becoming rich; Glydel Mercado as Luisa dela Rosa, Mayumi’s beautiful and loving mother who will do everything for her daughter especially after her husband’s death; Allan Paule as Mario Dela Rosa, Mayumi’s father who perseveres for his family’s future; Angelu De Leon as Brenda Salvador, Hernan’s wife who loves and spoils their daughter Isabelle very much; Sef Cadayona as Bryce Morales, Francis’ friend and officemate working as a graphic designer at the company; Samantha Lopez as Daphne Soriano, Hernan’s executive assistant; and the special participation of Dion Ignacio as Froilan Almeda, Francis’ prodigal older brother who left their home when he was young.

The Stepdaughters is a classic soap which highlights some of the most important values in life—honesty, love for family, the determination to reach one’s dreams despite the odds, and how true beauty stems from having a genuinely good heart.

The series is under the helm of director Paul Sta. Ana with the creative team composed of creative director Roy Iglesias, creative consultant Aloy Adlawan, concept creator and headwriter Geng Delgado, writers J-mee Katanyag and Kutz Enriquez and brainstormers Evie MacapugayWiro Michael Ladera, and Nehem Dallego.
