#NCAA91 Day 15: San Beda Wins Fourth Straight, Perpetual Help Gets Solo Second

The five time champions San Beda Red Lions manages to keep their winning streak in the 91st season of NCAA after defeating the JRU Heavy Bomber 88-69.

San Beda controlled the whole first half of the game as players of JRU like Paolo Pontejos struggles to make a basket in the first half though they were able to get close to the Red Lions, the Heavy Bombers fell behind 6 points at the end of the second quarter.

In the second half JRU were able to get close to San Beda 54-58 at the end of the 3rd via a three point shot and an easy basket by Paolo Pontejos, opening the last quarter Jordan Dela Paz was able to trim down the lead to a single possession ball game at 56-58 but Art Dela Cruz and the other Red Lions were able to make an 8-16 run with 3:39 left in the game.  

Art Dela Cruz again carried the Red Lions in this win giving a 29 point performance, adding to it is Dan Sara and Ola Adeogun who scored 17 and 16 points respectively. Teytey Teodoro and Jordan Dela Paz combine 31 points for the Heavy Bombers in losing efforts.

In the second game the Earl Thompson's Perpetual Help Altas prevails over Jovanie Jalalon's Arellano University Chiefs 76-66 iin their much anticipated match up last Thursday.

It was Arellano who started strong in the game leading the Perps 36-32 at the end of the half, but the Perps suddenly burst into scoring in the third quarter taking over the lead at 54-52, the chiefs suddenly ran out of gas specially in the fourth quarter where the Altas pulled away and take the victory.

Bright Akhuetie lead the Perps with 31 points while Earl Thompson scored 11 points, 7 assists, and 16 rebounds, Jovanie Jalalon on the other side led the Chiefs with 14 points 3 assists and 5 rebounds.

GMA 7's Let The Love Begin Airs Heartwarming Finale This Friday.


GMA Network's primetime drama series Let The Love Begin top billed by the comedy Queen Aiai Delas Alas, GMA's Rising Love Team Ruru Madrid and Gabbi Garcia aka GabRu. As the series nears its finale Aiai, Ruru, Gabbi and the rest of the cast shares their most memorable moments and things they will miss in the show as it is now coming to an end.

Aiai who plays the role of Jeni(Erick/Ruru's Mom) reveals that working again with her close friend Gardo Versoza and her scenes with Gladys Reyes are her most unforgettable moments in Let The Love Begin, "Kung paano kami naging close ulit ni Gardo dahil nagkasama ulit kami sa trabaho." said the Comedy Queen, "Nakakatuwa kas nag reunion kami. And si Gladys malapit sa puso ko yan, nakakatawa. maraming kwento at chika, ang tagal bago magtake, kasi hindi natatapos ang kwentuhan namin" she added.


Meanwhile Ruru who plays the role of Erick reveals that his most memorable scene in the series is his confrontation scene with Aiai who portrays as his mother, "Memorable para sa akin yung sinampal ako ni Mama Ai" said the teen hearthrob "Kasi  sobrang heavy talaga ng scene na yun at ang ganda ng kinalabasan". Ruru added that one of the things he will miss is the happy set and the kind staff and crew of the show and also his co actors in the show.

Gabbi, who plays the main female character Pia says she will never forget her scenes with Ruru "My most memorable scene is when I slapped Ruru because it was the first time I slapped him ever since we met" Gabbi says she will also miss their happy cast because they already built strong relationship with each other on and off cam. She also hinted that the final week will be filled with more romantic moments between Pia and Erick, "Expect more kilig scenes from Erick and Pia, and they should watch out whom will Pia choose between Erick and Uno (Phytos Ramirez).

Gardo Versoza says that playing the role of Tony is the most memorable for him, "Mami-miss ko yung pagigng DJ ko, yung character ko, at saka abangan din nila ang pagtatagpo namin ni Celeste". Donita Rose, who plays Pia's step mom Celeste, says she will miss having Ms. Anne Villegas as her acting coach. "She has been my greatest inspiration doing this soap and has helped me to not just enjoy the process but to study further and possible pursue even more roles.

Mark Anthony Fernandez says it was an honor for him to play the role of Jom and he said that he will miss workng with Aiai as well "I will never forget the first day because we had to reshoot because I thought Kathy is Katy pala"

Gladys Reyes who plays the role of DJ Katy, recalls her scenes with Jeni(Aiai). "Most memorable scene ko talaga yung tinulak ko sa hagdan si Jeni." Gladys also said that she will miss working with Aiai and she also thanked their director Gina Alajar for all the support she has given not only to her but to the whole cast.

#NCAA91 Day 14: CSB Wins Big, Letran Remains Undefeated

The College of saint Benilde Blazers win big against the sloppy San Sebastian Stags with a 22 point margin at 88-66.

Jonathan Grey explodes in that game leading the way for the Blazers with his season high 29 points, performance to give a big loss for the Stags.. It was the huge 2nd quarter run by CSB that kept San Sebastian at the bay the whole game.

Adding to Grey's 29 point is Fonsy Saavedra who scored 20 points for the Blazers. Meanwhile Bradwyn Guinto and Jamil Ortuouste combined 29 points for the Stags.

In the second game despite Mark Cruz's fractured nose, the Letran Knights held on to keep their undefeated record after beating the very dangerous Lyceum Pirates 83-78.

Veterans Rey Nambatac and Kevin Racal scored 19 points each for the Knights in the absence of Mark Cruz who only scored 5 points due to an accidental elbow that hit his nose in the first quarter.

Though Lyceum were able to capitalized on that injury of Cruz leading Letran in the second quarter with 35-34 from 12-19 , the Pirates were able to outscored the Knights with a 22-6 run. but that didn't last long as the Knight were able to bounce back in the fourth quarter to snatch the victory and remain unbeaten.

Jean Nguidjol top scored for Lyceum with 22 points.

Mutya Ng Pilipinas 2015 Winners

Leren Mae Bautista from Laguna bagged the Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International 2015 Crown last night at the Newport Theater in Resorts World Manila. Bautista bested 30 other candidates to represent the country in the Miss Tourism Queen of the year International 2015 in Kuala Lumpur in December 9. She also bagged special awards such as Mutya ng Hana, Best in Swmsuit and Mutya ng Sheridan Resort & Spa.

Other winners are Janela Joy Cuaton representiing the Filipino Community in Doha, Qatar, Cuaton won the Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International crown, she will be representing the Philippines in the Miss Tourism International 2015 on November 28 in Ha Long Bay,Vietnam. Cuaton also bagged special awards like Miss Photogenic, Miss Friendship and Mutya ng Skyjet Airlines.

Nina Josie Robertson from the Filiipino community in Australia was given the title of Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities, Julee Ann Marie Buorgoin of Cagayan De Oro was named 1st runner up while Brenna Cassadra Gamboa of Nueva Ecija was placed as 2nd runner up.

We Are Your Friends

Zac Efron returns on the big screen via "We Are Your Friends" a music drama film that follows a young man who struggles to become an EDM(Electro Dance Music) producer  and nightlife scene, the movie is set to be shown this August 26, 2015, produced by Warner Brothers and distributed by Viva International Pictures. 


Cole (Zac Efron), a 23-year-old DJ who struggles in the electronic dance music scene, has dreams of becoming a major record producer. Eventually, older DJ James (Wes Bentley) begins to mentor him, but Cole makes a connection with James' girlfriend, Sophie (Emily Ratajkowski). When Cole's relationship with Sophie blossoms and his friendship with James begins to break down as a result, he is forced into difficult decisions over his future.

#NCAA91 Day 13: EAC Notches First Victory, Mapua Gets Back To Back Win, Letran Stays Unscathed

In the Friday Triple Header of the NCAA, the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals finally notches their first win at the expense of the San Sebastian College Stags 77-71.

A much dominant EAC Generals showed up in their match against the San Sebastian Stags, though it was a close first half for both squad, the Generals were able to pull away early in the third with a 46-38 with 6 minutes left in the quarter but the Stags were able to close in with help of Ortuoste and Fabia to close the third with 55-50 for the Generals.

In the fourth quarter the Generals led the Stags 68-57 but a 12-2 run by San Sebastian trimmed the lead to just a single point at 70-69 with less than a minute remaining, but a three point shot by Joreme Morada seals the first win for EAC.

Hamadou Laminou top scored the Generals with a double double performance of 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Michael Calisaan led the stags with 19 points in losing efforts.

In the second game it was almost a huge win for the Mapua Cardinals after a 40 point lead at the end of the first half at 68-28, it was a very lopsided first half for the Pirates. In the second half Lyceum Pirates came back stronger limiting the scoring of Mapua plus Josan Nimes game missing at the second half, this allowed Lyceum to trim the lead down to 101-95, but it was too late for the Pirates as the Cardinals bagged their 2nd straight victory at 109-95.

Josan Nimes led the Cardinals with a season high 24 points, 17 of which came from the 1st half, adding to it is Allwell Oraeme's double double performance of 26 points and 20 rebounds. The Pirates meanwhile were led by Shaq Allanes and Rookie Mer Ayaay producing 27 and 22 points respectively.

In the third game the Letran Knight kept their unblemished record after beating last years' runner up Arellano Universuty Chiefs 77-68.

It wasa huge 14 point deficit that the Chiefs with 2 minutes left in the game but an 11 point run by Zach Nichols trimmed the lead to a 71-68 for the Knights, but that run was not enough as Mark Cruz sealed the win for the Knights knocking off a three point shot plus three freethrows in the dying seconds of the game.

Veteran Player Kent Racal led the Knights with 24 points and 5 rebounds, while Zach Nichols lead the Chiefs with 14 points.
