The 82nd season of the UAAP is set to kick off this September 1 at the Mall of Asia Arena and unlike the previous opening day there will be no opening day basketball games this season as the league decided to make a separate opening game day for the Men's and Women's Basketball tournament.
The Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament will kick off on September 4 and for the first time the UAAP is having a three game schedule for the Men's basketball beginning at 10:30am between UST and UE followed by FEU vs UP at 12:30pm, and at 4pm Ateneo will go against Adamson.
The earlier and stiff schedule of UAAP season 82 was done to give way to the 30th South East Asian Games that will be held here in the Philippines on November 30 to December 11.
