#UAAP78 Juniors Basketball: 1/20/16


In the third day of the second round of eliminations of the 78th season of the UAAP Juniors Basketball tournament at the San Juan Arena, in the first game the Nazareth School of National University Bullpups remains unbeaten as they edges the FEU FERN Baby Tamaraws 67-51.

John Lloyd Clemente led the Bullpups with 18 points, adding to that is Justine Baltazar's double double performance of 15 points and 11 rebounds for NSNU. On the side of the Baby Tamaraws Eric Jabel was the only player who was able to score in double digit with 13 points, FEU FERN drops to fifth place with a 5-5 record.

In the second game, the University of the Philippines Integrated School Junior Maroons takes their second victory after defeating the USTHS Tiger Cubs 82-71. Joaquin Javier Gomez De Liano top scored for the Junior Maroons with 15 points, UPIS improve to a 2-8 win-loss record though they are still at the 7th place.

On the other side, Joaquin Balingit and Inand Fornillos combined 29 points for the Tiger Cubs in losing efforts, USTHS drops to 3-7 record still at 6th place.

The Adamson Baby Falcons dispatches the hapless UE Junior Warriors 80-26, the Baby Falcons lead by Ferdinand Asuncion, Rence Padrigao, and Raygan Santos who combined 35 points to fend off the Junior Warriors to take the 4th spot with a 6-4 record. 

Meanwhile on the side of the Junior Warriors none of them was able to score in double digit, but Hari Aban and Ernest Camarillo scored 9 and 7 points respectively as UE drops their 10th game to remain winless in the tournament.

In the final game the De La Salle Zobel Junior Archers escape past their bitter rivals Ateneo Blue Eaglets 80-73. Zobel's go to guy Aljun Melecio pulled the Junior Archers up again with his double-double performance of 22 points and 11 rebounds to strengthen their hold in the number 2 spot with an 8-2 record.

On the side of Blue Eaglets, Shaun Ildefonso top scored for the defending champs with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Ateneo dropped to 6-4 record placing them tied with Adamson in the 3rd and 4th spot.
