#BbPilipinas2022 Hot Picks: Going International

 

From the despicable crown, we now go to the most desirable crown of the night, the Miss International Philippines title. 

Although the Japan based pageant hasn’t held any pageant since 2020 (they say they will be holding a pageant finally this December, but who knows), the Bb Pilipinas-International crown still remain as the top crown for Binibini. 

Reigning queen, Hannah Arnold hasn’t competed yet, but here we are looking for a girl that will get a back to back Miss International crown for us!

Leading my Top 5 Binibinis for the International crown is Gabrielle Basiano, Gabby has all the qualities on my check list, she is tall, mestiza, beautiful, look so divine and immaculate, she and Hannah are definitely a force to recon in the next editions of the pageant. 

Another on my list is Karen Laurie Mendoza, although I felt that her campaign in this year’s pageant was quite quiet, I think Karen is back with a vengeance she is ready to avenge that Q&A blunder she suffered from last year. 

I would love to put Roberta Tamondong on top of my list, she’s definitely a Miss International prototype, she even looked like a young Stella Marquez-Aranete, but I think she’s still young to be locked up, may the universe conspires for her, but she’s still one of my bets. 

Roberta came prepared to conquer Binibining Pilipinas.

In the list also is Tacloban City’s Chelsea Fernandez, this girl is silently killing the game, she’s my bet for the Globe crown, but who knows come coronation night she might just snatch the International Crown, definitely a Miss International material as well.

Last in the list is Diana Mackey, although I think her BBP campaign was a bit quiet and her performance in the last events wasn’t as explosive like other girls, Diana also has that prototype beauty that MIO has always been looking for.

#BbPilipinas2022 Hot Picks: Grand Redemption to Grand International

 The despicable crown, last year our two Samantha’s went almost and not enough as one placed as 1st runner up and the other went unplaced. The Miss Grand crown has been very elusive to the Philippines since we joined in 2013, we’ve already sent some of the best girls and somewhat I felt that we already wasted enough beauties in this pageant, but of course with the franchise still under Binibini we still want to send a high caliber candidate in Indonesia to show MGI that we always give an A in every game that we play. 

So here’s my Top 5 for the Green and Gold crown.

I think the battle for the Miss Grand crown is really between Graciella Lehmann and Herlene Budol, both of these girls already expressed their willingness to represent the country in MGI. 

Graciella, when I first saw her back in 2020, I really felt that she really is perfect for the grand, mainly because I am seeing Elizabeth Clenci in her and she’s got that spunk on stage that is perfect for the Grand Stage. 

Herlene on the other hand can really go head to head with the girls of MGI, she always has these gimiks and antics on stage to make her presence felt and I think that’s what a Miss Grand candidate should be, never be outshined in any situation. 

On my list as well are Roberta Tamondong, the towering Cyrille Payumo, and another front runner Gabrielle Basiano in sight for the Grand Crown. 

#BbPilipinas2022 Hot Picks: The Journey to Intercontinental

 Another back to back crown in sight with Cinderella Obenita is set to pass on her crown as Miss Intercontinental 2021 this coming October in Egypt, but knowing how sometimes unpredictable this pageant is I bet we can send someone whose as charming as Cinderella could be. 

On my list for the Intercontinental crown are some of the dark horse in the competition, just like what Cindy was when she won the crown last year.

First on the list is Maria Isabela David from Mexico, Pampanga. A replacement candidate, but definitely one of those girls to watch out for in the finals night, given the right timing and knowing when she should peak this girl is ready to snatch the crown from the veterans. 

Newbie Binibinis are also on my radar for the Intercontinental Crown, Yllana Aduana is one of my favorites specially during the fashion show and natcos competition, CJ Opiaza also stood out in the fashion show, Stacey Gabriel actually gives me a dark horse vibe as she always make her presence felt and always opens the show being Binibini #1 on a high note.

Tirso Cruz III Officially Assumes Position as New FDCP Chairman and CEO

New Chairman and CEO of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Tirso S. Cruz III has officially assumed his position as the head of the country's national film agency during his visit to the FDCP office in Manila last July 21.

 

Chairman Cruz and Outgoing Chairperson Liza Diño met to discuss the preparations for the transition process. He was accompanied by his daughter Djanin Cruz, director Joey Javier Reyes, Atty. Patricia Lejano, and Atty. Chris Liquigan. 

 

Cruz was among the appointed officials who took their oath in the Malacañang Palace before  President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. last July 5. The veteran actor is bringing to the  Agency more than five decades of experience in the film and entertainment
industry. 

 

During the closed-door meeting, former chairperson Diño, along with outgoing executive director Ria Anne Rubia discussed FDCP’s ongoing programs and accomplishments in the last six years  and agreed on the next steps to the transition process. She also led a tour of the Agency’s facilities including the Philippine Film Archive’s film repository.   

 

Diño expressed her continued support to the Agency’s new leadership, especially during the transition period.

#BBPilipinas2022 Hot Picks: Road to Globe.

 Maureen Montagne is a tough act to follow, winning the second Miss Globe crown for the Philippines I think she was allready due for an international crown. Following her journey to the globe Maureen was definitely if not the best candidate in the competition, a polished pasarela, a well thought of and organized wardrobe, and that wit and brains ready to slay in the question and answer round, I think it was her who stood out early in the pageant held in Albania. 

This year here are the 5 Binibinis that I think will best suite up to follow in the footsteps of Maureen in the quest to get a back to back crown at the Miss Globe pageant.

Among these 5 Binibinis, the Globe crown is a toss up between Tacloban City’s Chelsea Fernandez and Iloilo City’s Karen Laurie Mendoza. Both Binibinis got their own strengths and I believe both of them are long over due of a crown. 

A campaign for a back to back crown at the Miss Globe pageant will be a tough one and I believe these two ladies here will be strong contenders if one of them will be crowned. 

Included in my Top 5 for the Miss Globe Philippines crown are new binibinis Nicole Borromeo from Cebu  and Jasmine Omay from Tarlac, and of course another returnee Jash Dimaculang from Albay are also on my list for the Globe crown. 

Meet the 40 Binibinis for Binibining Pilipinas 2022

The much awaited beauty event of the year is happening witness as Binibining Pilipinas crown their 58th set of Queens in their Grand Coronation Night this July 31 at the Araneta Coliseum. 

The 58th Grand Coronation night of Binibining Pilipinas will be quite different this year as it will not be your typical beauty pageant as they inject the a P Pop Concert as well with the kings of P Pop Music SB 19 leading the pack.  

Who among these 40 beautiful Binibinis from around the country will be crowned as Bb. Pilipinas Globe, Intercontinental, Grand, and Bb Pilipinas-International.

Kuya Kim, Rabiya, and Pokwang headlines newest Morning Variety show “TiktoClock” this July 25.

 

Every second counts in GMA 7’s newest morning variety show “TiktoClock”, hosted by Pokwang, Rabiya Mateo, and Kuya Kim Atienza. The show aims to give happy time to their tiktropas before lunchtime as it takes on the pre noontime slot that’s 11:15am to 12nn Mondays to Fridays. 

The 45 minute countdown variety show features three time based segments, the first one is “Oras Mo Na” a singing contest that only give 1 minute to each contest to impress the judges with their songs, next is “Hale-Hale Hoy!” That features different time based group games, and last is the “Dance Raffle” that gives interaction with the live audience, the one who pick the choreography  of dance of the day first wins. 

Join Mamang Pokwang, Rabiya, and Kuya Kim every before lunch time and be their tiktropas starting July 25 right before Eat Bulaga on GMA channel 7. 

MMFF Releases List of First Four Films For Its 48th Edition

 

The Metro Manila Film Festival officially announced the first four official entries of their 48th edition of the festival happening this Christmas day in cinemas. 

The first four films are picked based on script and the list is led by Coco Martin and Jodi Sta Maria’s “Labyu with Accent”, next is Ian Veneracion’s “Nananahimik ang Gabi”, Vice Ganda is also back in the Film Festival with Ivana Alawi in “Partners in Crime”, and last on the list is Toni Gonzaga’s “The Teacher” with Joey De Leon. 

The next four films are finished films and will be announced on October.

The Superbods competition is back! After a series of auditions and call backs, from hundreds of male aspirants here comes the Top 16 male Superbods that will vie for the title worth half a million pesos this coming July 13, 2022. 

The theme of Superbods 2022 is "Stay Strong to Love Strong", this year's competition aims to inspire people to stay fit and be the better version of themselves so they can radiate love to their loved ones specially during these tough times.
