The San
Sebastian College improved their record to 4-4 after they frustrate the EAC
Generals after a close 75-73 game.
San
Sebastian was able to open the game with a bang as they take on an early 16-9
lead in the opening quarter, though EAC was able to cut the lead down to 16-17 at
the end of the opening quarter.
In the second
period, the game went tight for both squads as they finished the first half
40-37 in favor of the Stags.
The
Generals were able to take over the game after gaining a 53-50 advantage at the
end of the third.
In the
final period the Stags were able to retake the lead pushing it to a 69-64 lead
entering the final two minutes of action, but the Generals were able to make a
comeback after they trimmed down the lead to a 73-74 ball game with 11 seconds
left in the game.
Allyn Bulanadi’s
free throw saved the day for the Stags and that was his only point for the
game.
Michael Calisaan
led San Sebastian with 19 points, Reggie Ilagan had 12, and Ryan Costelo had
11, while JM Calma added 10 points.
Sidney Onwubere’s 22 points and 14 rebounds
went to waste as the Generals went down to 3-5.
The Lyceum
of the Philipines University Pirates kept their record unscathed after they
repulses the Letran Knights 75-68.
Though it wasn’t
the usual aggressive and feisty start for the Pirates, starting the game
struggling and down 18-26 in the opening quarter, and still down at the end of
the half at 35-44 they were still able to mount a comeback in the second half.
They
started to climb back on top in the third quarter as they were able to cut down
the lead of the 11 point lead of the Knights down to 53-59.
Lyceum
continues to chase down the lead of the Knights, they were able to shut down
the offense of Letran and limit them to just 8 points in the final period that
gave them the opportunity to complete their comeback.
Mike
Nzeusseu led the Pirates with a 13 points and 15 rebound performance, while CJ
Perez top scored with 14 points and Jaycee Marcelino added 13 points as well.
Rey Nambatac led the Knights with 16 points,
while JP Calvo and Bong Quinto added 11 and 10 points respectively as the
Knights go down to 5-4 still at solo third.
The Jose
Rizal University Heavy Bombers clobbers the College of Saint Benilde Blazers
81-53 to improve their record to 4-3 and pushing the latter down to 2-6.
JRU opens
the game with a bang after a 17-12 opening period output, they were able to
pull away in the second period after a dominant 21-7 output to end the first
half 38-19.
Going to the
second half the Heavy Bombers extended their lead at 70-44 in the third quarter
and they pushed it to a 31 point lead in the final quarter at 81-50.
Ervin
Grospe, Teytey Teodoro, Jed Mendoza, and Abdul Sawat had 14,13,12,10 points
respectively for JRU.
Carlo Young
and Edward Dixon had 14 and 13 points each for the Blazer.
